“Threat of Civil Unrest” – Preppers Who’ve Relaxed Under Trump Have No Idea the Hell That Is Coming

This article was written by Brandon Smith of Alt-Market.com and first published at PersonalLiberty.com.

Editor’s Comment: Perhaps it feels like the calm before the storm, but those with a careful eye surely see the pure chaos that is coming. Economically, politically, events are lining up for major clashes, severe downturns and wild card events that could bring American civilization to a grinding halt – or at least a temporary standstill.

The potential for clashes in the street – against pension cuts, or wars launched by the White House, or against the President himself  – could all unleash into complete civil unrest, and and could easily usher in martial law. There are thousands of professional protesters with no other objective that to cause trouble for the new administration; while the insiders in Trump’s cabinet could unleash hell anytime now. Will it be a stock market crash, combined with a severe Fed interest hike, and contracting credit? Will wars and rumors of wars bring new attacks upon America or its interests? How will President Trump respond, and how will events play out in the next 6 to 18 months? Stay vigilant, because no one knows the answer to that.

With Trump As President Prepping Is More Important Than Ever

    by Brandon Smith

I don’t believe it is as pervasive as certain people may think, but there is a notion among some in the liberty movement that with Donald Trump in the White House the need for crisis preparedness has subsided. Because preppers and survivalists tend to lean towards the conservative side of things, the urgency for prepping almost always explodes when the Democratic party is “in power.” As they say, for example, Barack Obama was perhaps the greatest gun salesman in history with the gun industry growing over 158% during his two terms.

Now with Republican dominance in Congress, Senate and White House, there is a possible temptation for conservatives to become complacent and comfortable once again. In 2017 so far, ATF background checks have dropped by at least half a million since this time last year, and gun company stocks are turning negative. There are also rumors floating around that survival food companies are suffering from a severe crunch in sales. Though I have not yet found this to be substantiated, I can verify that many preppers I deal with on a daily basis seem to have relaxed their guard.

I would point out that this is not necessarily all due to Trump. The gun market is likely saturated after eight years of Obama, and one must also consider that as the U.S. economy continues to decline, surplus cash used for prep gear is going to dry up. That said, I do think it is important to examine any assumptions liberty activists might have in terms of a Trump driven “recovery.”

When I began publishing my post-election analysis on what I felt was a predictable Trump win, I did find anger among some activists who decided I was being “too pessimistic,” and that I should join the movement in celebration. Being that I called a Trump presidency half a year in advance based on the premise that the globalists needed a conservative scapegoat for the next phase of the ongoing financial crisis, it was hardly a moment of celebration for me.

There is a common delusion among those that invest themselves in politics that all that is needed to reverse the course of any nation or situation is a “strong leader” with ample cheerleading from the populace. In reality, social and geopolitical disasters are usually far beyond the means of any one politician to change. Economic disasters are even more irreversible. I wish I could pretend to be optimistic, but I am rather well studied in the history of these kinds of events.

Conservatives are especially vulnerable to the idea of a “protector on a white horse” coming to their rescue; a God-fearing hero and statesman, a general and leader of men. But, such people do not exist. There are no supermen. There are no worldly saviors. There are only common men, with common failings, destined to face extraordinary obstacles. The great men of history are not born before hand — they are forged in the crucible of crisis. Great men are not great men until proven otherwise. To assume any political leader is a great man beforehand is foolish, to say the least.

This is why blind faith in a post-Trump renaissance is misplaced. It is something that has yet to be proven, and in the meantime, there are numerous and highly visible dangers on the horizon that demand continued vigilance and preparedness. I will examine one of these primary dangers now…

The Growing Threat Of Civil Unrest

As I noted in my post-election analysis, the political Left has been shell shocked by the rise of Trump and their emotional response would undoubtedly be to double down and become progressively more volatile and more violent. I predicted that this would be evident as winter broke and the cold weather subsided.

The first signs of this are surfacing as May Day is becoming a rally date for social justice mobs bent on disrupting any agenda the Trump administration might have for enforcing immigration laws. The largest of these protests is to be held in Los Angeles, but similar protests are planned nationwide as well.

From what we have seen from previous rallies, it would not be unfair to expect rioting in May. I say this because a tone shift in the left is taking place and extreme reactions are more frequent. The following video illustrates this clearly, I think…

    Warning – Explicit

In case you missed it, this guy just pulled an AR-15 on someone simply because they had a MAGA flag on their truck. Not only that, but he FILMED HIMSELF doing it and and apparently posted it on social media. That is how brazen and insane these people are becoming.

Think of it this way — could you have even imagined something like this happening during the 2012 election? It is important not to become conditioned to such behavior as being “normal.”

To be sure, this sort of thing will not be happening in certain parts of the country. In my state of Montana, the assailant would have been shot two dozen times over by our highly armed population regardless of his politics just on the self defense principle. And frankly, I am fine with that. Citizens providing security for citizens is the American way.

What I do have a problem with, though, is the increasing potential for an extreme response from conservatives in the face of leftist lunacy. Meaning, I worry about martial law with conservative support, which in my view is more and more likely over the next two years.

Contrary to popular belief among tough-government champions, martial law often instigates more violence than it solves. The harsher the crackdown, the more vicious the push-back; the more vicious the push-back the more totalitarianism is rationalized by authorities. It’s a terrible cycle.

Preparedness in terms of self defense should be self-explanatory here. During widespread mob action the rule of law is usually the first casualty, even when martial law is instituted. You also never know when some nutcase might declare you a “Trump supporter” (whether you are one or not) as he reaches for a weapon.

It is fascinating to me the level of cognitive dissonance with some liberty activists who seem to think Trump’s first term will be anything other than pure chaos. George Soros, an elitist who often funds the very groups organizing mobs to protest Trump, said it plainly:

    “I think Trump will fail.”

“What’s more Soros predicted that the market’s Trump high will soon turn into a hangover. He called Trump unpredictable and unprepared, and said that combination will end up bad for the market.”

Soros and his globalist colleagues do not need to field guesses; they ENGINEER the outcomes that they “predict.” Social unrest at this fragile time would result in the exact market instability Soros mentioned, among other problems.

Look, you may believe Trump is being threatened on all sides by the so-called “deep state,” or you may believe that he has willingly surrounded himself with global elitists because he is a Trojan horse. Either way, the diagnosis for the future is not rosy. It would be naive to think that the globalists would not do everything in their power to foment calamity in the near term. It would be equally naive to believe that such an agenda could be repelled through political means.

The answer, as always, is a prepared citizenry. This can act as a deterrent as much as a measure of comfort. The more prepared the public is for any eventuality, the less affected we will be by disaster. The less affected we are by disaster, the less fearful we will be when it strikes and the less likely we will be to make stupid decisions such as throwing our support behind martial law and the wholesale erasure of the constitution. The more prepared we are, the fewer options available to the establishment when attempting to lure us into poor collective decisions.

Prepping means freedom in the face of uncertainty, and times have never been more uncertain. To summarize: A Trump White House calls for more caution, not less.

Yes there will be blood on the streets when the Crimes of the Left are detailed in the indictments and supporting evidence is submitted in Court.

The Left is going to jail and the minions will not like it, so many of them will go to jail too.

I love the US CONSTITUTION. 🙂

        • “I would point out that this is not necessarily all due to Trump” Actually none of it is DTs fault at all. He is just the guy to try and resolve the many messes and corruption the DEMs created in the last 8 years ? How much racial animus was created and how many illegal aliens and supposed refugees allowed in ? How much money was stolen out of gov agencies to fund all manner of crimes like keeping Obamacare alive with a hundred billion from Fanny/Freddy and other gov agencies illegally ? And how many ways have the DEMs come up with to undermine DT and crew ? All the real problems are still not fully known, but they will be soon enough. We are seeing the tip of the icebergs because the criminality and corruption is off he charts in our government.

H8TE and violence by the fascist left: good
Anyone else who even peacefully SPEAKS out against the left: bad, and a microagression

Thanks for your arrogant, ignorant, fascist hypocrisy. A LONG time ago I tended left. It was exactly THIS horse manure that woke me up, and made me a permanent enemy of you leftist Nazi brownshirts.

Or as the even more disgusting than Alisky Herbert Marcuse, Father of the New Left, who helped pioneer the ideas of political correctness and hate crimes stated in a 1965 tract called “Repressive Tolerance”:

This essay examines the idea of tolerance in our advanced industrial society. The conclusion reached is that the realization of the objective of tolerance would call for intolerance toward prevailing policies, attitudes, opinions, and the extension of tolerance to policies, attitudes, and opinions which are outlawed or suppressed….

As he explained, the way to fix the “repressive tolerance” that Americans suffer because of the First Amendment is to suppress all voices except those from the Left: Liberating tolerance, then, would mean intolerance against movements from the Right and toleration of movements from the Left.… Not ‘equal’ but more representation of the Left would be equalization of the prevailing inequality

“With Trump As President Prepping Is More Important Than Ever” and all this time you’ve been telling us that Obama and Hillary were the worst case scenario. Now it is the rebellion against Trump that’s the boogeyman. Yet if Hillary would have been elected you would have said she was the worst case scenario.

“Preppers Who’ve Relaxed Under Trump Have No Idea the Hell That Is Coming”, and neither do you Brandon, neither do you. You assume it’ll be bad, which allows you to whip up the fervor and fear mongering.

          A George Soros-Led Mutiny

“For the last few decades George Soros and his Open Society Institute have organized and financed a seditious movement to destroy our Constitutional Republic and monetary system. Their mission appears to be to replace it with a One World borderless government under the jurisdiction of the United Nations.”

“Cloward and Piven encouraged demonstrations, protests, and riots as a means to generate public attention and wreck institutional havoc. Their goal was to force the collapse of their target.

Likewise, Soros appears to be using their concepts by employing the following steps to achieve his goal.

Step One: Form a shadow government using humanitarian aid as cover.

Step Two: Control the airwaves. Feed propaganda into existing radio and TV outlets and move public opinion.

Step Three: Destabilize the state, weaken the government and build anti-government hostility in the country. Exploit an economic crisis or take advantage of an existing crisis — pressure from the top and the bottom. This will allow you to weaken the government and build anti-government public sentiment.

Step Four: Sow unrest. Protests. Violence. Hate.

Step Five: Provoke an election crisis. You wait for an election and during the election, you cry voter fraud.

Step Six: Take power. You stage massive demonstrations, civil disobedience, sit-ins, general strikes, and you encourage activism. You promote voter fraud and tell followers what to do through your radio and television stations. Incitement and violence are conducted at this stage.

          Step Seven: Outlast your opponent.

“Currently Soros is actively working behind the scenes to collapse the United States and all seven steps are now in play.”

          http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2017/02/a_george_sorosled_mutiny.html

Cloward-Piven Strategy and the New World Order – Columbia University professors Richard Andrew Cloward and Frances Fox Piven wrote an article in 1966 for The Nation magazine.

The article was published on May 2, 1966 and laid out what is now known as the ‘Cloward-Piven Strategy’. The plan calls for the destruction of capitalism in America by swelling the welfare rolls to the point of collapsing our economy.

Unrest (and probably martial law) will follow. Then, citizens will cry out to implement a new and different program.

        • Braveheart1776 says:

Muddy, you miss the point here. The point is that the left is now more dangerous than ever and putting up all kinds of obstacles to Trump saving this nation. My prepping never stopped and won’t stop.

If you live in the country on a well I’d suggest getting a cheap hand well pump unless you can afford a better one. A cheaper one costs Under a hundred bucks at Lehmans. I think it’s called a green cistern pump. Will only pump down to 20-25 feet tho. I just ordered one cuz my water is 12 ft down. You just screw on a 1 and one quarter pipe, put down the well, and bolt to the well. This was the last thing i needed to do and i always worried about it. I finally did it. You might need to drill a hole in the well cap to stick the pipe down. Mine is iron and i’m looking for a plastic well cover. I was told they got them.

          • Redoubt Renee says:

Muddy also misses the point that prepping and prepping principles are a lifestyle. The best preppers are the ones who live prepared, not the ones who “get” prepared.

I know they didn’t think it up by themselves. These “people” plot and plan as a group, then “pick straws” for who will be out front as the one or ones responsible. This protects the group from reprisals. That’s why we see 99 year olds out front. If somebody goes violent, the target is an old fart who probably can’t remember where the toilet in his mansion is.

Yep, this explains why I am so cut up chopped up with bruises and cuts all over because I am in the middle of mum fuck jungle operating a chain saw, and the fact that I almost stepped on a coral snake, and I used number 4,and shredded the bastard. Now I just heard from a reliable source in person that North Korea is fixing to go down, and the source who was back from the recent war game, who talked to my girlfriend, told her that the said boyfriend who just go back said that, he is getting some more equipment because they are expecting that the Chinese will enter Texas from the border, since he told her, that North Korea cannot attack the south or Japan unless they get permission from China, and that if they attack, china is who is attacking, then china will attack Tiawon. Russia is allies with china, so everything about the china, Russia attacking the US, and what Quayle and Hodges is talking about is 100% real. Russia is out enemy, and Dr James Garrow told this to us many times over the last 3 years. The solider concern was that once that war started, the foreighn soldier embedded in the country will launch attacks in our cites on patriots to take us out, with planed civil war against us. So what Brandon Smith is talking about is correct and inline with what we know. Trump has not power over the outcome of this shithole of a mess he just inherited from that fucking idiot who moved in down his street. Wesley Rawles, one my favourite shtf-effers ain’t lying.

      • Chrisdogsr says:

Exactly. You couldn’t had said it better…

HCKS – How do you manage to wield a weapon, shoot a snake, and use a chainsaw at the same time? Ah yes, inbreeding. That 3rd arm sure does come in useful, it’s compensation for your lack of brains I suppose.

    7. Nailbanger says:

      Live life,
      Enjoy every moment you can,
      But keep a wary eye,
There are so many things that are out of our control but we need to let go of most of it and take care of that which we can control.
It may not be all the horrible stuff we read, but even mother nature is strained, all it takes is for the trucks to stop running for a week or two and things will get dicey,
But dont waste life wringing your hands over unknowns

        NB,

There was a barge breakdown and locally we ran out of animal feed. I use purchased feed as “candy” for my goats, pigs, cows and chickens. My pasture has more than enough food, but happy animals are easier to harvest.
My point is these are “good” times and we ran out of food.

You are right to point out how close we are to being out of food
        with the least little hiccup.
You and I are well prepared and we and a few others on this site can probably can last till the world ends, but many people out there are not as well off, so they had better keep on preparing.

I’m contemplating a return to the mainland for an extended visit.

Its pretty dry here in Kula normally, so without water you are not growing much, hence my reason for having a reservoir, two of my neighbors also have reservoirs, they get it,
But like she and i discussed, and she repeatedly stated, no water, no food,,,,,,,
And one trip to the store by every person on the island with no resupply and the stores are empty,,,,
Most folks have 3-5 days maybe,,, i know a few with less, and still a few who go out for every meal and have a couple little containers of coffee at home,,,
Your brave to head to the continenet, nmy mom was trying to get me to go with her for a graduation,,, i just cant do it, not into it, and too busy anyway,

Being really prepared is something most prepper types have no idea how to actually do or will do. When all is done with the correct mindset it is all very fun and there is no actual negative, Just enjoying the fruits of your own labors, fitness, health and well being !

    9. I kinda got tired of constantly being worried about “did I have this” or “do I need that.

I decided that I’m not gonna worry about it any longer. I’m prepared enough. I’m gonna get rid of some stuff that I feel is useless to hoard.

You know…like all these freakin’ nickels I got in ammo cans? And all these pre 1983 pennies? This stuff that Rawles was saying to save seven or so years ago.

This crosscut saw that I will probably never need and tool boxes of old time hand tools and sickles and scythes. More fuel and rechargeable batteries and a solar panel will work for me. I’ll be dead before I need them hand tools, or wish I was.

I refurbished an old wood and coal cookstove last winter that will possibly go too.

      • Karl V. says:

Anyone who is saving copper pennies should only save 1981 and before. Zinc pennies were made beginning in Jan 1982 at Philadelphia, and in Oct 1982 at Denver.

As long as there is any vestige of government, it will remain unlawful to melt down US coinage. You may not care about this, but you should be aware of it.

It is possible that some of your 1982 cents may have numismatic value. The following information is from the NGC website (author: David W. Lange) —

“The coin hobby enjoyed a real windfall when the U.S. Mint decided to make a major revision to the cent’s obverse master hub midway through 1982. The new hub is most easily recognized by its much smaller date, and these Small Date cents were first struck September 3. Ultimately, a total of seven different combinations of date size, mint and composition were created for the circulating cent coinage in 1982, only a 1982-D Small Date Brass cent being omitted. When one adds the 1982-S Large Date Brass proof cent to this mix, the result is a most memorable year for collectors.”

I have a couple jars filled with pre-1982 pennies, but I would not bother with cans or buckets filled with many thousands of pennies and nickels. Very heavy, bulky, and with a low ratio of value to mass. You’re better off turning in all that coinage and putting the money into one-ounce silver bars. In the event of a financial crisis, I would much rather have an ounce of silver instead of 1,800 pennies.

    13. Just watched Trump on TV. They had him on every station, so this is an establishment speech. He seems to have already been hijacked by the neocons and globalists. He said the Syrians used sarin gas on little babies. And he says he’s going to do something about it. In the videos being shown to the US public, the “white hats” are handling gas victims while using no hazmat suits. Therefore it’s not sarin. Assad turned over his chemical weapons 2 years ago. The terrorists did not. Syrian air force blew up a terrorist ammo dump. Possibly they had a chemical stockpile of some sort there. Syria is winning. They don’t need the heat from using gas on people. No motive. Trump is suggesting war against North Korea and Syria. The deep state is still in charge. Some things never change. Oh, I forgot, the US Air Force blew up a building the other day, killing 250 civilians, mostly women and children. Does that make us worse than Assad? Propaganda. See it. Know it.

Trump, I fear, is galloping into a toilet on this Syrian gas episode. The last time this happened, it turned out that the US-backed terrorists used the gas, and the canisters were traced back to Saudi Arabia–which has pressured Washington to oust Assad years ago because he wouldn’t allow the Saudis to build a natural gas pipeline across Syria so they could compete with Russia in natural gas sales in Europe.

Why is it that we think we have to be the saviors of the world? These people have been killing each other for CENTURIES. Is it horrible? Yes. Is it foolish to think we can bring it to an end? Again……yes. These people are not going to stop because they all have a 7th century mentality. When we try to interfere, we are viewed by them as “Crusaders”. Believe me when I say that they have not forgotten the the Crusades of the middle-ages.

Our interference in that part of the world gave us todays Iran.

We deposed a duly elected Prime Minister of Iran in 1953 and installed the Shah. And the Iranians have not forgotten it. Would you? What if some foreign country deposed our duly elected President and installed a puppet?

The screwed up policies of our own State Department have done more to cause the present mess than any other factor. Our CIA interferes in the affairs of other countries all over the world….and we wonder why things are so screwed up.

Our foreign policy should be very simple. “Mess with us and we take your country back to the stone age. We’ll reduce you to nothing and we won’t do a damn thing to help you rebuild.”

“The Atlantic Council’s past relationship with George Soros is also problematic given that Soros has deep financial ties to groups organizing resistance movements as part of an attempt to enact regime change in the United States.

As former CIA Director Michael Morell, James Clapper and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence have all clearly stated that there is not, nor has ever been any evidence that Russian hacking affected any election results in the 2016 U.S. Presidential Elections,

In my father’s day, Maine was a conservative and solidly Republican state. Now it’s the opposite — over 50% of the two most-populated counties are people from away; mostly from Massachusetts, with some from NY, NJ, etc — and the state is now solidly Democrat.

As is common, the first thing that these carpetbaggers do when they get here, is to put ceaseless effort into turning their new home into a carbon copy of whatever shithole they have just fled from.

It is common in southern Maine to see cars with Democrat / Liberal / Progressive bumper stickers; but almost unheard-of to see something from the other side. Anyone reckless enough to do so risks imminent slashed tires, broken windows, key scratches, or other damage.

I find it ironic that those who cry “tolerance” will tolerate almost anything except a difference of opinion. And they see no hypocrisy in their actions at all; as far as they are concerned, the stifling of opposing views is justified because ONLY their own view is the correct one.

The current climate here encourages this sort of vandalism and property destruction as “valid social activism”. There is a difference between bravery and foolishness; you have to pick your battles… and right now, the prudent thing (at least in this area) is to lay low, do your own thing quietly, and not draw attention from the hysterical rabble.

Though I have opinions I’m no expert. This site is really fortunate because it appears there are so many experts posting, they must be, because they are stating with absolute certainty what is happening and what will happen, even though they don’t have anymore information than anyone else (except of course for all those who claim have “insider friends” or access to “inside information”). Usually all this “information” gifted to the readers conflicts with the other posts, so a lot of them have to be wrong, the rest are just repeating what someone else has said. Especially since an economic collapse and national chaos with all the accompanying “proof” was supposed to happen 12 years ago, then 11 years ago, then 10 years ago……… A court couldn’t convict a jaywalker with the half-baked tripe presented here.
What make this all the worse is it appears most of the people posting on this site are desperately hoping for a catastrophe, how empty and pusposeless their lives must be. I’m a prepper because a lot of different things can happen, but I don’t get a hard-on wishing for an economic collapse.

Bill, where were you in 2008 when bottom fell out? Or didn’t you get the warning message? They papered over that crisis. They have printed $57 trillion plus in new debt in the world since 2008 (see NYT Feb 5, 2015) to create prosperity. Why create all this debt if the world is doing so rosy? By that I mean if the socialist world is doing so good explain Greece and Venezuela?

I am no expert either just a retired IT bank manager. But I saw and heard first hand the warning shots from bankers mouths, writings and reports. Its is not just catastrophe. Its more bubbles and crisis we must deal with. You may wake up one morning and find the U.S. currency devalued like the U.K.’s was. Greece may default and set of contagion…there is a long list.

All we are doing is living our quiet lives secure in thought that we have mitigated many of potential risks. If they don’t happen great! But the risk is still there…

        • Bill says:

Of course we all know about the money printing that has occurred over the past few years. But there are also lots and lots of opinions of whether it will be inflationary or deflationary or whatever. I saw what was coming in 2008, I sold my house in 2006 when real estate prices were becoming crazy. I even told my realtor I believed housing prices could soon hugely drop off, she told me I was wrong and that she was a professional and knew better. However, I never associated a drop in real estate as an omen for national catastrophe. I don’t think everything is rosy and didn’t say so, but also don’t believe a total collapse of civilization is coming. My post commented about two items; how thoroughly certain many people know how future events will play out; only to have substituted mere speculation for critical thinking. Time and time again the prophets and experts have shown to been wrong 99% of the time. Several different even contradictory sets of future events are stated, so logically they all can’t be right. The other is the fruitcakes who have actually said they want see the economy and our society totally wrecked, like reduced to people shooting each other over a can of beans. One can only wonder if they are really stupid or truly mentally ill.

To make an analogy: The fact that we talk about being prepared for a tornado, does not imply we are predicting where and when the next will strike, even though we talk of the weather conditions that spawn them, especially when we see those conditions ripening before our eyes.

I’m not sure what you want from this site? If I may, I prepared for Y2K chaos, but it never happened. What convinced me to take prepping more seriously was the series of events over the next couple years, like my water being cut off for a week, or the power failure that lasted ten days, or the stores going empty of food for three weeks. In all those events, I used up all those Y2K supply’s and more.

None of these folks are giving dire warnings, but one did move out of the country. You also run into interesting folks on overseas flights. Sat next to an Israeli geneticist on a flight out of Japan, and saw how utterly idealistically naive she was…. ah well. Really sweet lady. It’s all grist for the mill. We have been- and we still are in deep doo doo. But I am prepped as much as I can be right now until certain stocks are rotated. I am really doing most of this for the kids and young adults in our family- as I am fairly sure that without the youth’s presence, we would be short work for anyone with a concerted plan to breech our somewhat considerable defences.
Really, those who are new to the party can drop anywhere from 5 to 25K and get prepared in a hurry. But, once you are there- you’really there. What I do know, is that my prepping has made us a bad target for criminals… pool reservoir…safe room…cameras… etc. My big Berkey is my last major prep purchase for awhile. Now, the focus is fitness.
