“This Is As Serious As It Gets”

Precious metals professional, economic analyst, and commentator Jim Sinclair of Jim Sinclair’s Mineset warns that middle class and even upper class Americans who haven’t realized what’s going on and have failed to protect themselves from the coming calamity are destined to serfdom:

“The problem is so serious, the problem is so present time, the problem is so real that it has inherent in it the probability that the economy is not going to have a significant recovery for more than a decade. And the standard of living in the United States, the standard of many who are reading this now, especially those who have taken no measures whatsoever to protect themselves, who simply look at it as reading something of interest but not really acting on it, is going to be so significantly impacted as to make the middle-class or higher middle-class join the serf class.  This is as serious as it gets.

Speaking from the perspective of wealth preservation, there is only one asset with a history of being the preservation mechanism of last resort – and that’s gold (actually, precious metals in general). Forget inflation, deflation and all the other economic lingo. What we need to be focused on is crisis and confidence. For now, the American people have been bamboozled into believing the crisis has been averted and that we’re slowly moving into recovery. Nevermind the manipulation of not only the economic data coming from our government, but the perception of that data which has been created by the mainstream media.

A large portion of people actually do believe that things are getting better based on under reported unemployment numbers and misleading official inflation statistics, just to name a few. It’s sad to consider what will happen to these people when the sledgehammer comes down.

While nearly half of Americans do believe another recession is coming, they are still beholden to the opinions of the very same people who didn’t see the first recession coming, told us that the recession was over, and continue to claim that the economy is improving.

Most people realize times are hard, yet they have taken absolutely no action to preserve their wealth, let alone prepare for an economic collapse resulting from a US dollar debasement that may leave global trade systems paralyzed (which, means essential goods become very difficult to acquire).

In the King World News interview, Mr. Sinclair notes that at some point, potentially even this summer, there could be a loss of confidence in the entire economic system, which would lead to a crash in equity markets unprecedented in US history.

Confidence is the key.

The United States’ ability to manage this crisis is spiraling out of control, and other countries have taken notice. That’s why China, Russia, Iran, and even Mexico are moving hundreds of billions of dollars into physical assets – namely gold. They see the writing on the wall.

The majority of the American people, however, still have a degree of confidence in their elected officials and the institutions they cater to.

When that confidence deteriorates and eventually ceases to exist, the streets of the U.S. will devolve into this.

It’s been suggested by mainstream media that alternative news fuels economic conspiracy theories and doom & gloom. Take a closer look around and you will realize that the conspiracy is actually being perpetrated by those very same people who we are told are going to resolve this crisis. Other nations aren’t buying that conspiracy anymore, the big money movers such as the world’s largest bond funds aren’t buying it anymore, and our readers aren’t buying it anymore.

Follow the lead of those who are in the know and understand that this system is going to flat line. People like Ron Paul, for example, who today turned in his personal financial disclosure report to Congress. Look at some of the assets he holds:

Agnico Eagle Mines
Allied Nevada Gold Corp.
Alumina Common
Anglo Gold Ashanti Ltd.
BrigusGold Corp. Com MPV (formerly Apollo Gold Corp)
Barrick Gold Corp.
Gold Corp Inc
Hecla Mining Co.
El Dorado Gold Corp.
IAM Gold Corp.
Kinross

Dr. Paul knows the end result of our monetary, fiscal and economic policies, and he’s protecting the assets he accumulated over the course of his life by investing in, as we mentioned above, the wealth preservation asset of last resort – gold (with a healthy mix of silver and other mining companies).

Not everyone has the wealth of Dr. Paul, but everyone has the ability to prepare in one way or another. For those looking to protect retirement savings and the like, we’ve recommended precious metals and physical commodities. Even farmland is a good investment if you plan on living on the farm, working the land and benefiting from it directly. For those without the means to buy thousands of dollars of gold or farmland, the focus should be on food, preparedness supplies, personal defense, and skills development.

It’s serious, folks. When the government loses the confidence of the public, it’s going to hit the fan.

Unless Comet ELEnin is a Massive Brown Dwarf, we have lots of time before a crash.

Stock market swings of 200 to 500 points a day are nothing to worry about. These stock market levels and increasing point swings were predicted by Richard Ney in his book, THE WALL STREET GANG, 40 years ago.

China, Russia, Mexico, India, and others who are buying large sums of gold, haven’t recently “seen the light” of massive dollar printing. Its because they must “catch up” with the 8,000 + tons of gold that the USA holds to establish the NWO, One World Currency.

Just keep prepping folks, The sky is not falling yet, but given enough time, and NO action by US Citizens, it will.

If anything happens at all in certain areas of the globe, it’ll probably be a false flag followed by a nuclear attack.

EMP will be caused by a nuclear explosion, not a Bullshit solar flare or a bullshit comet ELEnin. Not in a million years, don’t even buy into that kind of lie and propaganda.

The filthy rich and their people have their bunkers, and the rest don’t. We can’t survive they will. Oh well, they think we use too much of their resources and are damaging their view/environment.
      _______________________

From David says: May 5, 2010 at 5:38 am [EMP Threat: ‘Within One Year 9 Out of 10 Americans Would Be Dead’]

While EMP is NOT 100% effective, even in a lower less, less effective burst, EMP will be devastating to today’s circuit run civilization.

Both NK and Iranian launchers are still relatively short ranged to do the job from the respective home countries, this is mostly irrelevant since that would be the proverbial “smoking gun” as to who attacked and lead to a counter attack that would negate any military gains to the attacking country. Mind you that the attacking country might have factored that in in terms of acceptable losses in order to take the USA down. (which is something to contemplate!)

Using available launch systems, the attacking country would have to stage the launch vehicle(s) closer to the US in order to hit the desired burst location – this would also serve to hide the origin of the attack and limit the US’s response.

Maximum effectiveness for EMP is with a small yield detonation (5-15mT) at altitudes between 250,000 and 500,00 ft. Above the reach of any air breathing vehicle, requiring a ballistic launch vehicle. EMP bursts are “line of sight” and the location and height of the burst define its “kill zone” on the planet’s surface. The lower the burst is under 250,000 feet, effectiveness begins to drop off at a rapid rate due to the nature of EMP.

While surface or just-above-surface detonations DO yield EMP effects, they are localized to the burst area and fall within the immediate destruction area of the explosion itself where the EMP isn’t noticed as the circuit in question has been vaporized or destroyed.
As mentioned, “One Second After” is a eye opening view into the world after an AMP attack, as is “Lights Out” (an internet only book, has been recently pulled from online to go to print – highly recommended).

Have to agree with you Jane and have been communicating that this will be the way they clear their debt from the books. Also a pretty quick way of clearing out the bottom feeders. I personally believe that if there isn’t a solid framework of close associates even the most hardened preppers will suffer.

The time now isn’t for panicking but for building a strong network of like minded folks. As proven by past events even the strongest castle falls under the right conditions.

I may bug in but I won’t last even with a million 7.62×39 rounds unless I have some support. Neighbors I know don’t even have an extra bag of chips for their family let alone 1 year of supplies.

I’ve said this many times here and I need to say it again. Gold and Silver prices don’t mean squat because you cannot eat either of them. WE the people will set the prices of trade items when it comes time.

          Good point.

Of course, the hardest part is actually building up that network of like-minded folks who are:

          1) close enough physically to actually provide help

          2) similarly prepped, at least enough to not become a drag on the team

          3) mentally and emotionally stable. This is not a crack or stereotype, but an honest-to-Heaven point. You see, like any random group of people who have a common interest, you’re going to find a few folks who are, well, a couple of transistors short of a complete circuit. Especially when forming a MAG, you need folks who are mentally/emotionally stable in normal/peaceful times. Why? Because a SHTF situation will certainly stress *everybody* out, and will likely cause more than a few folks to blow their mental fuses for awhile. IMHO, B-type personalities are what you’re looking for here, but do what you can.

          4) in an environment where it will actually matter. If you’re all sharing a high-rise apartment building, long-term sustainable living will be iffy at best – unless you can move as a group out to a bug-out location.

          5) are relatively healthy/fit for travel, combat, etc. It honestly sucks to say this, but someone who needs a motorized wheelchair/scooter to get his/her groceries is not going to be able to offer much help when traveling long distances, fending off raiders, and etc. Unless they already are living at the BOL (or BIL), they probably won’t be able to travel with you at all. I’m not saying be a prick about it, or to outright refuse someone (esp. if they have some rare-as-hell skills, massive preps, etc), but just keep it in mind as a factor.

          6) aren’t overly visible to civil authorities. If the SHTF situation involves an increase in tyranny, or, say, a crackdown to ‘maintain civil order’, the folks who have been in previous trouble are going to be the most visible to police, and will likely be among the first to be picked up, for any reason.

…and these are just the biggies (and I probably forgot a few important bits – please add to them). There are also a ton of little ones to keep in mind, from various skillsets, to knowing if that guy’s pretty young wife is prone to sleeping around or not.

It’s like forming any other group of people, really… just that the stakes are incredibly high.

          Odd Questioner:

I immediately though of “JANE” when you hit on point #3, and sure enough a few paragraphs below, she started her nonsense. According to “One Second After” about 1/20 people are on some pretty serious mental health meds, and will likely snap if TSHTF. I think that number is underestimated, but we can roll with it. I have found very few people I would trust (as preppers). I am one of the most prepared persons I know, and I often share tips and insights. (In Utah, prepping is common, and commonly talked about). However, I am the kind of person who believes in having skills, and not just “Stuff.” People who sock things away are not “Preppers” they are “Packers” and it’s important to know them. Because they can have all the food in the world, but A) They’ll likely get appetite fatige and not eat it anyway and B)They usually don’t know how to renew food, let alone everything else they’ll need. There are a million and one ways that life will be impacted, from not being able to buy stuff (possibly ANYTHING for some time), to the slightest cut giving you and infection when there’s no way to wash yourself. Let alone the pests that will come from people not disposing their garbage/waste, yikes!

As a former resident of Salt Lake City (well, Sugarhouse) and various other towns all up and down the Wasatch Front, yep – OPSEC isn’t as much of a necessity there. I even remember the house I owned near Ogden coming with a built-in pantry room in the basement. :)

1 in 20 on meds is a good estimate from my POV as well. I think anti-depression med withdrawal will likely be less violent than coming down off of, say, anti-ADHD or anti-schizophrenia meds. Fortunately, most of the meds involve fighting depression, and most withdrawal symptoms from that would include various forms of lethargy and lack of energy (mental and/or physical).

    1) Look for a short term correction on the price of gold. There will be an attempt to bring down the price of PMs inorder for the financial wizards(liars) to get people to sell their gold by saying others have been crying wolf. Watch as there will be a large amount of people falling for it. We as a nation aren’t quite where the NWO/elites want us to be at. Good news; less and less people are being fooled.
    2) We’ve got a large amount of armed and resistive people in the know. Which is making it harder for the socialist to bring us down, as a nation, to Third World Status.

I also believe there will be a massive play by the controllers to bring down the prices of metals to very low valuation. They hope to get the 2% of people who own them to sell in panic. just hold fast, and remember the fundamentals. The powers that be can’t ‘print” gold or silver. supply is what it is. The true fundamentals will come to control the price sooner or later.
There will be a time to sell. Just make sure it’s when you decide, and not some manipulator using artifical price stimulation.

“NO ONE IS BOUND TO OBEY AN UNCONSTITUTIONAL LAW AND NO COURTS ARE BOUND TO ENFORCE IT.” By Marti Oakley

    http://www.activistpost.com/2010/12/no-one-is-bound-to-obey.html

Washington D.C., known more these days as the “district of criminals” commits so many crimes each day as a collective body that a moratorium on government should be declared until we can clean this nest of globalists, these kissers of corporate butts who seem more determined to protect their own private interests than protecting our country from obliteration by global cabals.

As congress moves forward with plans to end our sovereignty, as they collude with foreign interests to take our jobs, to destroy our culture and to subject us to international laws and agreements harmful to us as a nation, we need to remember who we are. We are not globalists; we are Americans. We are not “citizens” of some new world… We are not a collection of mindlessly identified numbers and codes, biometric identifiers, or mindless sheep that don’t understand what is being done to our nation. We’re the greatest society to have ever existed. WE ARE AMERICANS. The greatest threat America faces on a day to day basis are those who masquerade as protectors and defenders of the American people. D.C. has long since ceased to be of any value to the public although corporations and the obscenely rich find a home away from home in this ten square mile district.

We are also standing on the edge of a precipice and if we don’t stand up and collectively demand a return to, and an affirmation of, who we are and what has bound us together for more than 200 years, we will be driven over the edge into an unimaginable abyss.

AS CONGRESS CONTINUES ITS DAILY DELUGE OF ANTI-AMERICAN LEGISLATION, ITS UN-AMERICAN ACTIVITIES, BEAR IN MIND THAT JUST BECAUSE CONGRESS SAID IT, DOESN’T MAKE IT SO.
Consider this opinion of the Supreme Court.

The general misconception is that any statute passed by legislators bearing the appearance of law constitutes the law of the land. The Constitution of the United States is the supreme law of the land, and any statue, to be valid, must be in agreement. It is impossible for both the Constitution and a law violating it to be valid; one must prevail. This is succinctly stated as follows:

The general rule is that an unconstitutional statute, though having the form and name of law, is in reality no law, but is wholly void, and ineffective for any purpose; since unconstitutionality dates from the time of its enactment, and not merely from the date of the decision so branding it.

An unconstitutional law, in legal contemplation, is as inoperative as if it had never been passed. Such a statute leaves the question that it purports to settle just as it would be had the statute not been enacted.

Since an unconstitutional law is void, the general principals follow that it imposes no duties, confers no rights, creates no office, bestows no power or authority on anyone, affords no protection, and justifies no acts performed under it . . . A void act cannot be legally consistent with a valid one.

An unconstitutional law cannot operate to supersede any existing valid law. Indeed, insofar as a statute runs counter to the fundamental law of the land, it is superseded thereby.

No one is bound to obey an unconstitutional law and no courts are bound to enforce it.
    – Sixteenth American Jurisprudence, Second Edition, Section 177. (late 2nd Ed. Section 256)

Keep this in mind when your friends and family, or your elected officials tell you that “it’s the law, you have to.” If that law is arbitrary to the constitution, if it renders you subject to illegal or unconstitutional laws & acts it is in fact, null & void. Keep this in mind when the courts rule in favor of corporate interests knowingly violating the rights and protections afforded the people as described in the Constitution. Almost without exception, every law that has been passed by one administration and congress after another in the last twenty years has substantially violated & reduced the rights of Americans.

One of the gravest mistakes made by Americans today is the mistake of assuming that because congress passed a piece of legislation and the president signed it, the violations of rights and liberties, the assaults on the American people under the guise of [national security] or other created crisis are justified or legal. You have guaranteed rights only so long as you defend them from encroachment by the government.

    End.

Wow, Jane–that was a great explanation of legal principle. Very well put. I hope i can remember all that. I have often wondered why we have to accept laws as enacted, just because they tell us we have to. according to your explanation, if the laws don’t pass the “smell” test, they aren’t really enforcable. BUT< fighting them, and going through a corrupt court system is another matter entirely. When the whole game is rigged, I don't care if you have the greatest team in the world, you're going to lose.
But as time passes, and even a street wino knows we are being screwed, things may begin to change. The "natives' are getting restless. The masses, including street bums, John Q. Public, and his cousin, joe Sixpack, now are very aware, that what Washington tells us, and what really "is', are two different things. They all know we are being lied to on a daily basis. virtually everything that comes out of Washington is a lie, and a big lie at that.
The powers that be are preparing. Are you?? They know what's coming–do you??
Buckle up, it's going to be a rough summer.

      • GMAFB says:

Let’s get it right here…it was a Supreme Court ruling…

        — Sixteenth American Jurisprudence, Second Edition, Section 177. (late 2nd Ed. Section 256)

On the one hand, there is no shortage of either gold or silver in the physical markets (only a problem of production).

On the other hand, a loss of confidence in the US Dollar will put such a high demand on a tight physical supply (tight because not enough of the plentiful reserve -much like oil- is refined/mined to satisfy spontaneous demand) that prices will skyrocket, regardless of what the shysters at JP Morgan/HSBC work out under the table with the COMEX (i.e., margin hikes).

This brings a question: What would anyone actually need a .50 for? I mean, unless there are light tanks in your neighborhood that need stopping, or small trees that you want to chop down in a hurry…

I suspect it’s to fight off ‘the man’ and all in some post=apocalyptic scenario, but honestly? How well do most folks here *honestly* think they could hold off (let alone stop) a well-trained squad of Army regulars? A gang of rogue cops, maybe, but only until they get enough friends to surround you (after all, you can only point that thing in one direction at a time, and most of them are damned heavy rifles).

Personally, the absolute biggest rifle I have is a .338, and that was for elk hunting. It’s also a great way to reach out and take down pretty much anything at 200-300 yards. If we’re talking Mad Max scenarios? Well, with a velocities of ~2400-2800 fps on a 250gr. bullet, I don’t think most commercial or improvised body armors would hold up very well to one at close range.

Funny thing is, that .338 will macerate your shoulder after about 40-50 rounds of target practice… I’d hate to think of what a .50 BMG would do to it (not to mention the pounding your wallet would get…)

So far many places in Utah are expecting no less than a 30% loss of crops (they were unable to put crops in for almost a month after the normal date), and many are not even going to plant. Same for areas of Ohio, the farmers hadn’t even plowed the fields by the time they should have planted. That means livestock will skyrocket in price too. Take care, everyone, we need each other.

Most everyone realizes that selling 100 tomatoes at once takes a whole lot less effort than selling 4 or 5 at a time to people.

I’ve also been told about “The Amish Auction” where they’ll sell stuff thats half spoiled. I was told a story of a woman who bought a wagon load of sweet corn. About 25% of the ears were rotten. The good ones, however, she cut and canned. She got 3/4 of a wagon load of sweet corn for $20. A steal, but, some work. Look for stuff like that.

I believe that a gold and silver-based economy will eventually arise out of the ashes of an economic meltdown and melee not unlike J. Rawles fictional account in the first chapter of his book “Patriots”.

However, we all have to consider the amount of time we will have to outlast the rest of the sheep until the consensus is reached to rebuild and economy based on the tangible worth of gold and other preacious metals. This could take years!

SO lay-in you food preps, skill-sets, friend and support networks, get in shape, stock-up your meds and depp-cycle solar batteries and get ready to see some serious death as things come-apart around you. I’m banking on 2 to 5 years of absolute chaos, anarchy and deprivation until enough of our population has killed and died itself off to cause the entire situation to settle down.

Then the elite uber-richies who caused this whole mess in the first place will step-in with their mercenaries and puppet government to try and take whatever is left from us by edict or by force.

One can take the anarchist position that the U.S. Supreme Court is only 9 black-robed attorneys who have no more authority than we recognize them to have. Or one can take the position that in Article III the Constitution explicitly created the Supreme Court, specifying its jurisdiction.

In essence, the Constitution means what the Supremes say it means. Even though they have eviscerated our liberty since Marbury v Madison. Do they abuse their “authority?” Oh yeah. But unless you like prison chow you’d do well to recognize their power.

Am Jur is a legal encyclopedia. It isn’t mandatory authority anywhere. It is cited, behind constitutions, statutes and case law, to put a scholarly sheen on a brief.

As someone else pointed out one risks prison for defying the laws, as unjust as one might believe them to be.

I don’t believe 55 planters, merchants and lawyers have any more authority to decide our liberty than the first 55 people commenting on this article do. Yes, they were among the Power Elite of their day. Many of them were instrumental in winning the War of Independence. But they are mere mortals just like we are.

They discussed. They voted. They wrote a document. Big deal. Their elite peers accepted it because it enshrines [ forever ] their power over us.

It’s time we stopped viewing The Constitution as though Moses brought it down the mountain.

We don’t get our liberty from a piece of parchment.

Stand by your values and morals of knowing right from evil, because in the end you have to live with your actions. I know it is hard to make the blind not see what is happening, but at least if you made an ounce of effort, then you at least did something. I have found that more and more people are waking up that all is not well in the neighbor hood, but some just need that gentle push towards the right direction to fully coming awake. Stand for something or stad for nothing, you have that choice. Be aware, Be awake, Be alive!!

    Jane,
I read your long post. One thing you leave out is this. Might is Right. If any government chooses to enforce a law from behind the barrel of a big gun, you obey or you get crushed.
There is no such thing as Rights. Rights are no more than what we can wrestle from the people in power. Rights don’t exist when a powerful force chooses to ignore them.

I don’t believe Jane is telling us what our rights are, that was not her intent. She only wants to share an article that someone else wrote.

Personally I appreciate it when ppl are being helpful. At some point ppl become fed-up with government tyranny and try to do something about it. Martin Luther King is a good example of that, and made a tremendous difference with his efforts.
