“Beyond A Red Line”: Trump May Be Fighting Several Disastrous Wars Simultaneously

Red Button Internet Kill Switch

This article was written by Michael Snyder and originally published at his Economic Collapse blog.

Editor’s Comment: Disaster doesn’t begin to cover it. There are things which President Trump can waltz through with bravado or bluster, and come out on top. But for really serious matters like all out war, there is really a lot of room for just making things worse. Never mind who was, at one point, right. When it comes to world wars, and major regional actions, it will be wrong just having dragged us all into it. And millions may die.

The fact that there was never a good reason, and that so much of all this has been provoked and engineered just makes it all that much more sickening. Whoever Trump cut a deal with, or whoever he takes advice from, he is walking right back into George W. Bush’s Axis of Evil… with the potential to invoke a hot war, perhaps preemptively, with North Korea, while kicking things off again in Syria, Iran, Iraq and beyond.

Donald Trump Has Just Committed The United States To A Disastrous War In Syria

by Michael Snyder

Rumors of war are percolating in Washington D.C., and if the Trump administration is not extremely careful it may find itself fighting several disastrous wars simultaneously.  Just one day after threatening North Korea with war, Donald Trump has committed to taking military action against the Assad regime in Syria.  Trump is blaming the chemical attack in Syria’s Idlib province on Tuesday on the Syrian government, and he is pledging that the United States will not just sit by and do nothing in response.  Unfortunately for all of us, military contingents from Russia, Iran and Hezbollah are mixed in among the Syrian forces, and so any strike on the Syrian military could potentially spark World War 3.

In this article, I am going to share with you several quotes from President Trump and members of his team over the past couple of days, and if you read them carefully you will see that Trump has clearly painted himself into a corner.

This first quote comes from CNN, and it is a portion of Trump’s response when he was asked about the chemical attack in Syria by a reporter…

It crossed a lot of lines for me. When you kill innocent children, innocent babies … with a chemical gas that is so lethal that people were shocked to hear what gas it was, that crosses many, many lines — beyond a red line.

Trump has very harshly criticized Barack Obama in the past for doing nothing in Syria once Obama’s “red line” was crossed, and so for Trump to use the exact same phrase is very meaningful.  And in his remarks about this new chemical attack, Trump once again pointed the finger at Obama for making “a blank threat”

“I think the Obama administration had a great opportunity to solve this crisis a long time ago when he said the red line in the sand,” Trump said. “And when he didn’t cross that line after making the threat, I think that set us back a long ways not only in Syria, but in many other parts of the world, because it was a blank threat.”

But now that Trump has also accused Syria of crossing “a red line”, the only way that Trump can avoid the same kind of criticism that he was casting at Obama is to take military action.

White House spokesperson Sean Spicer underlined this point when he read a prepared statement to reporters during “an off-camera White House briefing”

Today’s chemical attack in Syria against innocent people, including women and children, is reprehensible and cannot be ignored by the civilized world. These heinous actions by the Bashar al-Assad regime are a consequence of the past administration’s weakness and irresolution. President Obama said in 2012 that he would establish a “red line” against the use of chemical weapons and then did nothing. The United States stands with our allies across the globe to condemn this intolerable act.

And UN Ambassador Nikki Haley made it crystal clear that the Trump administration was quite prepared to “take our own action” if the UN Security Council failed to address the chemical attack in Syria…

“When the UN consistently fails in its duty to act collectively, there are times in the life of states that we are compelled to take our own action,” she said.

Of course the UN Security Council is not going to condemn Syria, because Russia would veto any such resolution.

So the Trump administration is going to be faced with a choice.

Either they will back up their words and take military action in Syria (which would be totally disastrous), or they will be accused of making threats that turned out to be completely empty just like Obama did.

A much wiser approach would have been for the Trump administration to say that they were going to study this attack to determine who was behind it before pledging to take any action.  Because the truth is that previous “chemical attacks” that were blamed on the Assad regime have turned out to be false flags that were designed to draw the western powers into the war…

The U.N. thoroughly investigated the first 2013 attack. The U.N Commission of Inquiry’s Carla Del Ponte ultimately said the evidence indicated the attack was carried out by the Syrian rebels — not the Syrian government. Despite this, support for the Syrian rebels from the U.S. and its allies only increased, raising serious questions about Obama’s sincerity when condemning chemical attacks.

Pulitzer-Prize winning journalist Seymour Hersh found the second major attack was committed in a similar manner. Hersh found that the U.S. quite deliberately attempted to frame the evidence to justify a strike on Assad without even considering al-Nusra, a terror group with access to nerve agents that should have been a prime suspect.

And I have a feeling that this new attack is another false flag, because it wouldn’t make any sense for the Assad regime to use chemical weapons at this point.  Thanks to the assistance of Russia, Iran and Hezbollah, the Assad regime is winning the civil war, and the only thing that could possibly turn the tide now would be military intervention by the United States.

So if Assad did actually use chemical weapons against a bunch of defenseless citizens on Tuesday, it would have been the stupidest strategic move that he possibly could have made.

In any controversy such as this, you always want to ask one key question: Who benefits?

Of course the answer to that question in this case is exceedingly clear.  The radical Islamic rebels that are being backed by Saudi Arabia and Turkey will greatly benefit if they are able to draw the western powers into the war on their side.

But what would the U.S. have to gain by getting involved in such a war?

ISIS is almost totally defeated in Syria thanks to Russia, and most of the country has already been reduced to rubble at this point.  But if we did get involved a lot of Americans could end up dead, and as I will discuss in Part II of this series, there is a very real possibility that we could end up in a military conflict with Russia, Iran and Hezbollah.

Back in 2013, a much wiser Donald Trump tweeted the following

AGAIN, TO OUR VERY FOOLISH LEADER, DO NOT ATTACK SYRIA – IF YOU DO MANY VERY BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN & FROM THAT FIGHT THE U.S. GETS NOTHING!

I could not have summed it up better myself.

Hopefully Donald Trump will take his own advice and will keep us out of a war that would be absolutely disastrous for our nation.

Whenever anyone says “Think of the children” and uses them as props you know you are being sold a sack of sh*t. Trump is trying to use an emotional appeal to justify our involvement.

Meet the new boss…same as the old boss! Money and power make the world go around. They have repeatedly demonstrated that they are willing to kill millions if it advances their interests. That is why I prep. Nobody but me will look after me and mine!

    • Heartless says:

As much as I hate to admit it ‘Justice’, I think you’re right. Trump, for all his rallying of the ‘deplorables’ is not one. Never has been. Born, raised, matured and has lived with a silver spoon in his prissy pursed yap all of his life. Hasn’t a clue as to what it would mean to get dirty, cut-up and bloody doing real work. Never done without a single thing. Never robbed Peter to pay Paul. Never has had to deny himself basics; or same to his family. He is money personified. As he openly admits. And as for his idiotic tweeting and braggadocio concerning affairs in Syria – he’s just being played, playing us all and in general being a dumb-ass. He’ll choose whatever he thinks makes him look good. What he finds to be self-aggrandizing. Whatever the hell it is that keeps his banker masters satisfied like the good lap-poodle (or ?…. Golden Retriever?) that he is. Folks, we’ve all been played. And yep, I voted for him. Have to admit though, his ol’ lady and daughter are hot. Sure beats the sh*t out of Hildabeast, Bill and Chelsea to have to look at while we slide down the tubes to hell and war.

Saddaam Hussein crossed a red line, Gahdaffi crossed a red line… and now Assad crossed a red line…Apparently, the elite, when they find a good excuse for war, use the same line over and over…

      • Satanists wear a red string on their wrist. Lusciferians are cabal it’s, and it all stems from the religion of Bail and they believe the deaths of children increase their power. All the children dying at the alter of war are seen as an almost holy thing as it increases their power in a real and tangible way. They drink the blood of actual children. They eat aborted babies. The stem cells of placenta and the babies really do have health benefits. So the satanist’s practice is good for the complexion, but at what cost. Since their souls are dedicated to Lucifer, they believe it is their salvation. You see, up is down; and wrong is right.

That is what we are up against. Twisted logic by people whose minds have become sick.

Let’s try to help them back to sanity. And save the world at the same time.

    • TheGuy says:

Makes you wonder if there isn’t some really great reason for getting involved (aka the instantaneous coronary stroke our economy might have if we don’t). Something’s not adding up here. We’re not being told something.

Everyone condemns the idea and then the advisors go at them for 3 months and it’s a total 180 on the subject. Every single time.

The US gets the rights to the pipeline, once they remove Assad and install a more pliable puppet, of course– just like in the Ukraine…

Trump was talking about taking out ISIS once and for all– but who created ISIS? The US supplied them with enough weapons and sneakers to make them a formidable foe…

      • PO'd Partriot says:

I don’t know what you all are thinking about what “WE” are GOING TO GAIN….. Alls ‘WE’ ALWAYS GAIN ARE SOLDIERS COMING BACK WITHOUT ARMS, LEGS, OR IN FLAG-DRAPED COFFINS. THERE IS NO FUCKING ‘WE’ UNLESS YOU’RE THINKING OF THE ‘WHEEEE’ AS THEY (TPTB)ARE DRIVING IT UP YOUR ASS.

      • Kieron says:

I honestly don’t think there will be pipelines, puppet leaders or any other kind of benefit for the US after this engagement. I believe that the Russians also have a red line and the US are testing it to the limit.
The truth is that America is a broken and bankrupt nation and war is their only option .After Trumps promises of better relation with Russia and a pledge to step back from wars abroad,it’s painfully obvious that the people that hold the strings are starting to pull. I’m sorry to say they have cracked open a door to a very dark place, if the they decide to open it anymore there will be no turning back.

-North Korea throwing a tantrum with Nuclear weapons.
-Iran has nukes. Saying they will destroy Israel and US assets.
-US economy and dollar on edge of collapse. Debt is unmanageable.

Will we make it to the end of Trump’s four years without nuclear war or civil war?
      Hope so. But looks doubtful.

Never allow yourself to think that way.
Ammo is a special gift reserved for the enemy, and those that take your Freedom, Liberty, and Oppress you. Every day above ground is a good day.

Be positive. Go for a walk. Get sunshine. Drink a beer or six. Grill steaks. Phone a friend. Don’t have a friend? Then Get a dog or three. Get a new girlfriend and get laid. Buy a new truck. Whatever it takes. You never ever never give up. Never.

Ammo is for the enemy. When you are dry you take your e tool and take their life and their ammo. You never ever give up.

Life is good. Beer is good, with Grilled steaks and sunshine make a good day.

The enemy wants you to feel defeated and hopeless. The enemy Fears your power and strength. There are more of the us than the thems. If we ever come together and stop allowing the thems to divide and brainwash us. They LOOSE. They know it.

          Never give up.

The CIA and the DOD need to brief the President on another possible source of the Sarin gas. In 2003, the DOD watched as 6 mobile labs ( some chemical some biological) rolled across the border from Iraq into Syria and then into Lebanon. I say helpless because the lawyers would not allow an attack because the deadline had not yet been reached. I know this because I saw it all on satellite recon from Kuwait.

  2. They want war…..war is good for business….war is peace…..they are psychopaths….Remember, it was one single bullet from an assassins gun that set off World War I., which in turn caused World War II. If Trump were smart, he would say we have no business in Syria unless there is a declaration of war by Congress. And at this point, there is no threat (or attack)on the U.S. that would justify war. If the Neo-con deep-state psychopaths get their way, we are all facing World War III….and the end of humanity as we know it.!!!!

  3. Nomadic says:

The red line or actually the color red was represented by the red jacket and fire extinguisher of the subway bomber/terrorist in St Petersburg …I know that now.
Days before red stood out to me and I thought it was because red is the color coding for crowd control/riot ordnance but the St. Petersburg bombing hadn’t occurred yet so it made no sense.
The numbers for Bulgarian ordanace 46 22 11 33 mean something too…. but I might never know what.

Its quite possible that this incident didn’t even occur. The handling of the supposed victims is suspect. Nerve Gas casualties are decontaminated before anyone would touch them and their clothing.

I said it months ago that the difference between Trump and Clinton is that Trump may require a false flag; Hillary on the other hand would be in on the planning.

I suspected this but my heart sunk.

    War is coming.

    • Jason says:

NO SYRIA MILITARY INTERVENTION: IMPEACH TRUMP NOW!

    • Justice says:

      Kevin2, “War is coming.”

I have prepared for economic collapse. I studied what actually happens when national economies decline/collapse. Even though I know that most/all wars are economic in nature I could not/would not consider preparing for a real war. Preparing for war is different than preparing for economic and social collapse.

With that said, I don’t think I have the economic resources to prepare for WWIII. Most of my preps are for hunkering down and now I will have to consider becoming more mobile should the need arise. Establishing a bug out location.

It is an interesting topic: Prepping for Economic Collapse vs. WWIII.

      • Nailbanger says:

The biggest problem with WWlll is going to be that we definitely wont get away unscathed, they only hit Pearl last time, this time i have a feeling that our big cities will be lain to waist as many of the big cities of Europe during the last world war,,, wonder how all the whiny queerdos and entitled assholes will fare through that,,, ask someone who cares

        Not good. Everybody hunker down.

      • ChickenHawk says:

The biggest part of prepping for either scenario is mindset. WW3 will not be much different than a total economic collapse. Neither will be fun. Prepare to be dirty, cold, hungry and believe it or not, bored. Boredom is when things become the most dangerous. Depending on your location, it may be best to just hunker down. A war scenario will see no safe place in this country. You will still have the problems of the criminal element; roving gangs, displaced persons etc… There is also the probability of foreign troops being on OUR soil.

  5. I find it ironic that this happened in supposedly teorist controlled area just days after the Russian subway attack. Are we going to be drawn into something just because Russia retaliated?

  6. Kevin2 says:

    JAS

    “Russia retaliated”?

This is a false flag. This is a nightmare for Russia.

    • Shooterbob says:

I think jas is correct, Russian retaliation for the subway bombing. A stupid question now, what if the Russian subway was a false flag, it gives the Russians a wider fight in Syria using chem weapons and draws us into a war to weaken us even further. All they needed to do was bait the hook, think of the children.

  7. Stan says:

Was a deal reached; or advice given to Trump? Possibly, but due to this drastic change with Trump, i believe a threat was given to him to play ball or you’re out! And even Tillerson is completely off what he was saying two days ago, in letting Syrians decide their future, which obviously makes sense. They have condemned Assad without investigation. D.C. is the fruitcake capital of all time.

  8. unreconstructed says:

It didn’t take the neocons long to capture Trump.

  10. Faux Liberte' says:

    Another thought experiment:

Many are confusing the meaning of the word “war” in the context of our current crisis.

The modern meaning of war, from wiki:

“War is a state of armed conflict between societies.”

According to the Ancient History Encyclopedia:

“The word ‘war’ comes to English by the old High German language word ‘Werran’ (to confuse or to cause confusion)”

Which of the above is the correct meaning, given our present state of affairs?

  11. Ketchupondemand says:

  14. Braveheart1776 says:

Ketchup, you could be right. I suspect either Al-Nusra or ISIS behind the attack. Assad would have nothing to gain by using chemical weapons now. He’s got the upper hand on the jihadis now and liberated a certain amount of territory thanks to Russian intervention. I suspect Trump is getting some unbearable pressure from the neocon scum to go into Syria. While I’m not a fan of Assad, it’s really the Syrian people’s decision what to do with him. Syria is not America’s problem.

  15. Frank Thoughts says:

It starts tonight: hope you have your war preps are in order. The British are being told the strikes will happen tonight.

Like a pregnant balloon, we need this war. It has been building and festering for too long. Our youth have become so degenerate and lazy and need a kick in the pants: a draft. The economic jolt will be stupendeous and will focus the government in a way not possible in peacetime.

We have the bodies to fight it too: all those Muslims and Africans need to get into uniform and into a forward operating base.

  16. Soluna says:

Trump is a new POTUS and the world tests new POTUS. China is testing Trump with North Korea and Russia is testing Trump with Syria. Trump need to address both strategically and firmly. If he does not, the world will continue to test and do bad things. I believe he will take care of it.
