Beware: Ex Military Soldier’s Survival Plan Is “To Hit Preppers”

One of the tenets of long-term preparedness is something we refer to as Operational Security, or OPSEC. The goal is to build our stockpiles, strategies and friendships without the knowledge of the general public, or in many cases, even our neighbors or acquaintances.

    Why?

Because when it hits the fan, and there’s no food in grocery stores and violence erupts all around us, we’ll have the supplies to survive and the defensive initiative to protect what’s ours. The last thing we want is for those who failed to heed the warnings, to come knocking on our doors looking for handouts or a place to weather the storm. The fact is, our supplies are limited, so operating on the down-low is an important strategy to ensure our safety in the midst of disaster.

But taking the time and effort to plan effectively is not the only strategy being implemented by those who expect the worst.

There are those out there who have a different idea of how they’ll acquire necessary supplies should the system as we know it destabilize.

And that plan is to come for what you own.

Southern Prepper explains how your operational security may have already been compromised, and shares a story from one “prepper” who is planning on taking advantage of those who had the foresight to ready themselves.

He’s ex-military. He said his plan is to hit preppers. He doesn’t have enough money right now to prep himself, so he’s going to go around and hit preppers.

    So be careful.

(Visit the Souther Prepper Youtube Channel for more great insights)

In a previous SHTF security video, it was noted that you are a high value target in a post-collapse world.

Beware, because this is what we can expect.

One item everyone such have with these perilous times now and in the future is some sort of shortwave radio. I would recommend all radios be protected in a faraday cage to guard against EMP from the Sun and man made. Most shortwave listening is not censored by some middle man, you hear what you should.

For those with shortwave radios there are some emergency frequencies you can listen to:

      Military Command and Control

      4.724 Mhz
      4.742
      6.739
      6.712
      8.992
      11.175
      13.200
      15.016

Was listening and lots of chatter on this last night, especially 4.724

FEMA, known as federal enforced military association

      5.211
      10.493
      14.567

This will probably become stations that are on most of the time after this happens

You can enhance the shortwave’s little antennas with a wire hung as straight as possible across a higher location around the home. Then connect the wire to some alligator clips and snap the alligator clips to the shortwave’s antenna. This will improve the reception. To determine how much length of wire you need will be the frequencies you desire. Say you want to listen to some New Zealand news at about 7.5 Mhz. You would divide 468 by 7.5 = 62.4 feet. The higher the frequency the less wire you need for an antenna. many stations are in the 11 to 13 Mhz range, that would be 36 to 42.5 feet. Lower bands such as 4.7 would need about 100 feet of wire. The Military Command and Control though you can usually hear with just the radio’s attached antenna. Solar activity will decrease dramatically the reception even with the best store bought antennas though.

How to build your own shortwave antenna for better listening, especially weak worldwide stations that won’t skew the news as much as the MSM will.

The military today, and believe me I have great respect for them, have never and hopefully, never experience what the the Viet Nam vets went through. They are not versed in the jungle fighting, booby traps, ambushes, etc. that the Nam vet went through. That said, don’t think for one moment that you can just march in and take my sh!t. Been there, done that. You will experience stuff that they don’t teach anymore.. Molon Labe!!!
Don’t underestimate those old jungle fighters, you’re momma will not recognize what’s left.

              • Canadian Vet says:

Beg to differ. Being Canadian I can’t speak for Iraq but while jungles are thin on the ground in Kandahar Province, the cannabis fields do provide a similar environment in terms of lack of visibility and close quarters fighting.

But my point is that even if it wasn’t fighting the VC (and they were tough little sons of bitches), the Afghan insurgents are also amazingly competent at ambushes (either conventional, IED initiated and/or complex or multi-stage), they know their booby traps and IEDs and they are really smart (or at least those in leadership positions are), flexible, adaptable and creative. Speaking from my perspective, if we hadn’t learned from past mistakes and remained rooted in our doctrine like the Red Army was when they invaded Afghanistan instead of learning and adapting on the fly (and then training the next rotations our lessons learned) we would have been slaughtered.

So, again from a Canadian perspective, any of our soldiers who was outside of KAF has at a minimum a working knowledge of ambush and counter-ambush as well as IED and counter-IED TTPs. The combat arms types, the full-time convoy guys, the EOD types, those on the QRF, they are masters at it. Not to disparage the Nam vets and their hard-earned skills and knowledge in fighting an asymmetric threat, the Afghanistan vets have an equivalent skillet but are far more current on the technologies that can be used and the most effective TTPs (and incidentally on how to counter these).

I’ve been thinking about similar ideas lately. There are some people that will only get the “9x interview” through a scope. If one can determine at distance that they’re bad news, they won’t get close enough to setup their ambush.

Also, what’s to say people don’t booby trap their perimeter? Or that we won’t be patrolling outside of it? I think the life of most looters would be short and end violently.

yourmotherwaswrong: I have forecasted this in past postings. A few ‘cop-haters’ with a score to settle will make a call to an area that’s ripe for ambushing and when the cop(s) arrive at the phony call they get whacked. Their guns, ammo, and gear all taken. The same may happen to paramedics for their drugs and equipment. I hope this doesn’t happen, and it probably won’t, especially in a deep SHTF scenario because all these people will be home protecting their own homes and families. Better come up with another plan pal.

Exactly! They are targets of opportunity.

After all, they would have all the goodies, and they would be easy pickins for a motivated crew.

If Preppers aren’t wargaming that scenario, they should.

Greg8 and YMWW, I’ve always suspected the same things, but I expect the feds and foreign troops will appear on our streets. Part of my plan is to take whatever weapons, ammo, and gear I can get from them. It’s a safe bet that local, county, and even state cops will be home taking care of their families. The feds won’t have that luxury. braveheart

Cowardly just like I thought, he isn’t going to do anything to piss off Russia or China, just make himself look like a hero. Guess what, he will look like the fool that he is and now the whole world will know that they can manipulate his puppet strings without any consequences.

We are being led by a coward, an incompetent follower who wants more than anything to look good but have no substance, a shell of a man, a puppet who can be manipulated. The scary part is when he is personally attacked by the corrupt leaders of the world, because then he may strike back with dire consequences, that is what a psychopath does. Hurt my country but love me is OK, insult my virility and make fun of me and you will pay dearly regardless of how if affects humanity.

I would bet my last dollar that the military is scared to death of this ego maniacal, incompetent, spoiled little monster, the mindless selfish congress and all the devil’s minions working behind the scenes.

You better say God help us all because he is the only hope we have now.

                • Well, yes and no…

I agree with your premise – and suspect that while the “ex-soldier” will have a lot of success early-on, he’s not going to last too long.

I also question why he would “hit preppers” first… any real soldier would know that an armed defender is a far bigger risk than the target’s unarmed neighbors just down the street, each with varying amounts of goodies. Incidentally, that kind of news is going to get out real fast too.

This is why you band together with your neighbors – that guy can hit *one* house, but he’s going to have a very hard time taking down a whole neighborhood or armed individuals.

Cops (and paramedics, etc) will catch on pretty quick – all it will take is for one hit, and word will get out *very* fast.

                • Grippentrog says:

If someone (the person planning to hit preppers) really does want to kill it is difficult to stop. There are several general statements about dealing with this one person and few specifics. The one person detailed in this article is not going to be the issue.
Think how motivated an accountant or shoe salesman will be when his kids are starving. Think how many threats you can cover 24 hours a day. The only two ways to deal with potential desperate people is to hide 24 hours a day and never leave your house. The other way is to not let anyone know your prepping.
Most here have blown the second option. Tell one and you have told all. Think about people who laugh at preppers. Think about a conversation about preppers and people joining in with the fact they know or are related to a prepper followed with all the wacky things we do. Good luck.

KY Mom: That’s why I have an alternate pickup and delivery site away from my home. First thing to come off delivered goods in the mailing label which is torn into many pieces and thrown into several cans around town. Then the boxes are also torn up to destroy anything identifying the contents. These too are strewn about town. Lastly, all magazines have their labels removed and are tossed elsewhere when done. I never buy my guns and ammo from the same place, always at various places around the county with cash. When I go shoot, it’s at a private range and all my guns are concealed to and from the house in ordinary bags that don’t look like anything to do with shooting. I do my best to hide in plain sight. I also don’t talk to anyone about survival, prepping, shooting, or much of anything that could be taken by folks as anything out of the ordinary. OPSEC first, last, and always. Be safe!

              Indy Colts-

Ok lemme get this straight. The banks buy the stock then CRASH the stock so they can lose money.

Par for the fucking course thinking at SHTF Plan!”

yes, absolutely – PUT options are super cheap to purchase especially when the stock market it going UP (it does not matter that it is artificially inflated via the government) it is all math algorithms

so they buy, this helps drive the prices up even higher, and suckers in more buyers

then as it is at the top, they purchase PUT options on their stocks, this is insurance against drops. then you easily set a stop loss on your stock as well at a lower number (usually still above your purchase price so even then you sell at a profit)

when the market tanks, the stocks drop increasing your PUT options, as well as your stop loss is hit causing even more selling (causing your PUT’s to go up even more)

then as the bottom comes in, you close out your PUT options. you make money on both sides of the trade and the suckers (usually the mom and pop investors) get to take the loss – the big guys call it arbitrage, but really it is just organized stealing

if you don’t think this is how it works, start following/learning about the stock market and ask yourself WHY obama has unscheduled meetings with wall street, or the banks. just last week he had one.. what you don’t think they talk about the coming events? *(this was just before their syria announcement) you bet they do, have you ever seen anybody responsible for the 2008 crash go to jail? nope, just enriched them more and there will be more campaign donations next time around

The one really stand out characteristic of the prepper/survivalist is that they are non conformist. MAVERICKS that think on their own. What you are talking about is exactly what the mind controlled MSM and government want of the population, blind obedience. You have to follow the topic of the article period, and you can’t comment about another event, idea, or something else related to the title of the site SHTFplan.

Everyone should know what is going on, what is wrong with showing people how to tune into emergency sites? What is wrong with showing people how to get better reception for information? You would have us wait until Mac posted an article about shortwaves? You would have us wait until Mac has an article about storing water, prepping, firearms, etc. before we can share this with others? mac is highly intelligent and I am sure he enjoys all the information that we teach each other each day on this site, regardless of the topic of the article. This is why this site is one of or the top sites for survival on the internet. Because people’s comment are not corralled into a box each time.

Look here, I have been to other sites in which the retards have this strict stick to the article comment policy. They have about 2 to 15 comments per day and are never ranked higher than about 15 on the top 100 survival sites on the internet. These sites have good articles often and absolutely suck while trying to walk on the owner’s RULES “eggshells” to get a comment through. Try some of them and see the time you spent writing something get deleted and trashed because it didn’t conform to the sites’ rigid codes of behavior.

My God man, WHY would anyone criticize all the good people out there that are taking their personal free time to try to help each other survive and have a chance for what is coming up? Why does Mac write these articles, because it keeps us updated on what is happening, and allows us to expand on the endless other issues that affect all of us in someway. 0311, Peterson, Yahoo, Finx, Jiveman, or whatever alias you choose, I say one axiom to you in regards to the success of this site, If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

I read the articles here and find them already full of knowledge. I read the comments not only to see peoples thoughts and feelings about the article, but all the other useful information people post. In a bad situation, I prefer to be over informed than under informed. The people who post on this site have their stuff together, and readily offer excellent advice, even if it doesn’t pertain to the article above…and really, if you think about the overall scheme of things, everything pertains to being prepared. We need to stick together in trying times, as TPTB want to keep us seperate and vulnerable. The post about the radio frequencies was, from my take anyway, a way to help keep us together. Keeping in contact gives preppers an edge, as information is shared, not to mention status checks of friends made. If you find that the comments are going astray, post a question, share a comment in relation to the above article…be active. Most of us here want to learn and share experiences to help out, but there are times when thoughts stray. Be active, and the community will be active around you as well.

I just planted some Red Russian, good stuff, holds up real good, cant use it for my commercial production though because its way too crazy, every time you break off a leaf it sends out a new stalk, is a good hearty variety though and an heirloom to boot, so can save seeds, kale has the highest nutrient value of almost all the leafy veggies, real high protein and antioxidants too. Just gotta get past the bitter.y favorite way to eat kale is blanched, cut into thin strips like cabbage then made into a slaugh with a good old fashioned cider vinegar dressing. Good stuff

While they can be programmed for MURS, GMRS, and FRS it is illegal to operate the UV-5R on those bands as it is not FCC Part 95 certified. http://www.miklor.com/uv5r/UV5R-FAQ.php#certify

Anyone willing to do that may as well program the Ham and emergency responder frequencies and PL tones so you can transmit on those as well.

An amateur radio transceiver is not a cheap thing to buy, but I consider it a “must have” whether you have a license or no. Most of them can be “opened up” to transmit outside the amateur bands, but you didn’t hear it from me.

      • Great Post Be Informed,
As a former Army Radio Telegraphist I spent 3 years with an EW Regiment and a further 3 years with Comms and Security Group specializing in ELINT…. the capabilities of EW/NSA is incredible, one of the things I recommend is to use a Tablet or laptop with a interface and ‘Text’ your comms as high speed burst transmissions, as this is harder to DF because of the speed. If you are going to use voice comms then a comms map is necessary of your AOP and always transmit at the lowest power setting possible to maintain comms. Another suggestion as you have mentioned is have your own EW capabilities, that is monitoring the freqs, you can easily DF any comms as long as you have a decent Rx with SWR, and one or better yet two other Rxing stations…
        Anyway good suggestion,

I did the same thing you are talking about when I was 12. I’m 73 now so that’s been a few years ago. My brother and I built a crystal radio. It used no power and you could choose the stations you wanted to hear by just attaching to the right bare spot. (We used to listen to the Grand Ole Opry) Any way, what do you think of this kind of radio? As I remember, about forty feet of antenna wire took us to the world.

My dad used to have 3 large plants in his back yard. He called them “mole bean plants”. Said they kept the moles out of the yard. He also said you had to cut the tops out every year to keep them from seeding all over the place. A few years later I had bought land in the mtns. Moles were terrible. I asked for some seed to the mole bean plant. He said “darling, those seeds are poisonous. Are you sure you want them? You gotta keep the seeds away from deer etc, it’ll kill em.” I asked him exactly what a mole bean plant was, well he couldn’t remember the proper name of the plant but he went on to explain…” Do you remember the guy that died in that hotel room trying to make that poison-it was on the TV” we’ll yes, of course I did, the idiot was cooking RICIN! ” yeah, that’s it he said, that’s what’s in those seeds. Well mystery solved, the mole bean plants were castor beans. A couple of years later he cut the bushes down, and only God know what happened to those seeds, cuz he sure didn’t tell me.

Definition of a home robber. Someone that breaks into your home and forcefully tries to take something. There are laws against this in pre SHTF times. You have every right to defend your home before, during, and after true SHTF. Anyone attempting to take your supplies, by force or by theft is nothing but a criminal. There is NO excuse for this type of plan to attack preppers or anyone else. Very poor people all the time put away fro tomorrow. What someone like this is doing is advocating being a criminal. Most states have Home Castle laws, and even if there was a recovery after SHTF, very few people would be prosecuted for protecting themselves from home invasion, especially with some THUG with weapons breaking in like some meth head. NO EXCUSE for anyone not to be putting what they need away right now for SHTF, even small amounts. NO EXCUSE.

Today instead of depositing $400.00, they paid into our account $4,000.00. They want to get out of debt. There is nothing negative about this family as far as we are concerned. Some white families may tell you that the payment will be late and then you find out that they just bought a new vehicle

The rules will change overnight maybe even quicker. The established laws will be thrown out the window. He had better keep his ass down starting at about 800meters on in. Locals will know what a guy like that is and know instantly how to deal with it. Guys like that wont last very long, they will be slowly get picked off generally, but if if it gets to the point that someone is hunting them, they will have a problem too. Fighting and running on unfamiliar ground without resupply always on the defensive, against an aggressor that knows the lay of the land and all of the shortcuts, they will have to be really good or real lucky.
On an off topic. Our kid that live next door about three weeks ago got what I thought was a worthless dog a poodle no less. What I found out was this stupid thing is about the best cheapest effective early warning system yet. Day or night it doesn’t matter, inside 150 meters this thing goes off. If I want to see where it is, just look at the dog and where he’s looking. Who’d a thunk a little yaper dog could be so effective. Here’s the real up side, he doesn’t eat much and not many land mines either.

Am I the only one who remembers the crux of this article appeared under the approximate title, “SHTF Raiders” two or three years ago on SurvivalBlog?

And those “scary” looking dudes are Hispanic gang bangers from Los Angeles. Those images have been all over the internet for years.

Compared to a sedentary, middle aged suburban type, a much younger banger might or might not be tough one on one. Like other cowards what makes them dangerous is having nineteen buddies pile on to help them out.

So Mr. Raider was “in the military” was he? Was he combat arms or was he in the paymaster’s office? That makes some difference.

He will find that not having air cover, an engineering corp, artillery, medics not to mention 29,000 buddies on site will dampen his alleged ferocity just a wee bit.

American Mercenary and Max Velocity had articles about lone wolves trying to be Che Guevarra. Those writers DO have the military been-there’s to opine on it.

Even if Mr. Raider WAS a real life Rambo sooner or later he is going to pick on the wrong BOL. He and his partners will get their heads pink misted. Feed them to the hogs.

Most people think when prepping for defence go for a 9mm or 45acp pistol & 5.56/.223 or 7.62/.308 combo there is nothing wrong with that but they are still missing that one extra weapon to handle barrier penetration. During the middle ages body army was made obsolete by the increased use of the firearms in battle which were more like shooting mini cannons .850 lead balls & larger, the purpose being to knock the armoured soldier to the ground in order to finnish him off . today the use of certain personal protevtive armour has made 5.56 useless against it & therefore it is only logical to equip oneself or group with weapons larger than .400 shooting bullets in the 400gr to 600gr range which is also very effective against light skinned vehicles therfore why not go for 5.56 ar battle rifle & 45-70 lever action or ar in .458 socom & 9mm p pistol or some similar combo in that way they will need nothing short of a tank to drive ut to your front door

Penetration is accomplished by velocity and a high SD. A high SD is achieved by using heavy bullets for caliber. The SD of a 55 gr .223 is .157. The SD of a 180 gr .308 is .271.

thats all paper math stuff but what about on the street, bush or woods is it the one you will carry & how practical would the rifle be & have you lived with that rifle 24 hrs a day & can it take knocks, jolts, scrapes & dirt & still function. Unless its the only one you got & instead of hating it because it does not look cool like those tactical things seen in the magazines you will make a fighting gun out of it

Yes, It is a “plain jane” Ruger bolt action with a stainless steel barrel/action, black synthetic stock, Leupold VXIII 2.5 x 8 scope, ported barrel, polished action, a 3 lb trigger without creep, and shoots sub MOA. It has been on mountain Elk hunts, deer hunts, and has been in my stable for more than 10 years. The only draw backs are it’s lack of a detachable magazine and you MUST have hearing protection. Porting the barrel turned it into a fire breathing dragon.

I was just trying to support your thought on thinking outside the norm for a rifle with some knock down penetration punch. Almost anything is better than a .223.

      i am not suprised.

no matter how great an organization you may have spent time in(military, church); there’s always going to be people from those groups who will still drop every principle if their lifestyle changes and dont think you wont have some neighbors, friends and families who attack you once they figure you’ve got some advantage over most everyone else around.

we’ve got some yard squirels and we feed them because we like having squirels around, but no matter how much food i lay out; there’s one that’ll run off the others and eat it all for herself because the squirels have no idea that i’ll lay out food again tomorrow.

if things get that bad in the US to where 1/2 the country doesnt know if they will eat each day, its going to be mob rule and survival of the fittest.

dont you just love what our elected officials have done with this country ?

13/14 count cinnamon sticks (look in the mexican area, cheaper at Walmart)

        2 cups white sugar.

        2 cups light brown sugar.

        1.75 liter of Everclear.

(Special note) Had to use Everclear because the ‘shine just tasted to damn good by itself. ;)

In a “large” pot start heating the apple juice, when it starts to get hot add the sugar and cinnamon sticks. when it comes back up to boiling add the cider. (we added a Lil’ bit of cinnamon powder at this time also, about 2 tsp.) When it gets hot again, add the Everclear.

When the mixture is boing again, start to ladle/pour into quart jars. Y’all will need 13 and a 1/2 quart jars. Wipe the rims with a clean damp paper towel and then screw down the lids sort of snug. (Not super tight… just hand tight)

It takes about 10 minutes or more for ya to here the “ping” of the jars sealing. Just set the jars on a towel with no fans blowing on them.

Enjoy, just don’t blame us for the rug print on the side of your face the next day. :)

Allow to cool slightly. Turn onto a jelly roll pan and allow to cool completely. Cut into strips and then into bars about 1″ wide and 4″ long. Store in ziplock bags. These bars can be stored for several months.

“Always mystify, mislead, and surprise the enemy, if possible; and when you strike and overcome him, never let up in the pursuit so long as your men have strength to follow; for an army routed, if hotly pursued, becomes panic-stricken, and can then be destroyed by half their number. The other rule is, never fight against heavy odds, if by any possible maneuvering you can hurl your own force on only a part, and that the weakest part, of your enemy and crush it. Such tactics will win every time, and a small army may thus destroy a large one in detail, and repeated victory will make it invincible.”

The problem with giving someone a place to weather the storm is, too many people interpret “God helps those who help themselves” too literally. No one wants to try to help someone, only to wake up with all your provisions gone, or with a gun stuck in your face because they didn’t think you ‘helped’ enough.

I guess I’d use my intuition, and then decide if I thought I could take this person if I had to. I’d minimize the risk of getting stabbed in the back. If I couldn’t do that, I’d probably be a whole lot less forgiving.

Have you ever heard of King Alfred? If not, let me educate you. He was the 9th century English king who successfully defeated the Vikings by organizing all the fighting men in the area into an effective fighting force and then devised a doctrine to effectively fight off the Vikings. It included observation posts to warn of incursions, per-positioned forces to respond and fortifications to deny the raiders the riches they were after.

You and your fellow Mall Ninjas are going to be half-ass modern Vikings and after a few raids, you can bet the farm you will meet your own King Alfred and you will get what’s coming to you. You don’t have the monopoly on the use of deadly force, tactics, cunning and ruthlessness.

So go ahead, raid to your hearts content but be ready to have a short life expectancy.

Or as an option you will be taken out in the night by a vigilant over watch team using NOD’s unseen by your teams.

The defenders of a well prepared position have the odds 3 to 1 in their favor.

3 to 1 is pretty generous odds. That is what I was taught (Canadian army doctrine) was the minimum ratio for a single line of defence, never mind prepared obstacles, defences in depth and hardened fighting positions.

But you are damn right. Accurate range cards will turn the ground around your location into a killing field, especially if you do place some booby traps ( even something as crude as 6 inch nails through a piece of plywood) in the most likely (and alternate) lines of approach.

I have for years burnt all paper and cardboard and took recyclables to the drop off. It is 35.00 a month for trash pickup so that alone has had a large bearing on things with us. much of the food waste ends up in the garden so there is only few occasions were I have to get rid of something and when I do I take it to other friends house on there trash day. I had Identity theft years back that caused us to safe guard our self’s. Same as there are predators the predators could become the victims with a set up of sort. The police here use a few local construction company’s trucks loaded with tools in a mostly black area to target shitbags and it works every time. A guy That I use to do work for on his rentals set up some thugs that way by leaving the tools in the rental and waiting for the crooks and it worked only he did not call the police and neither did the dead thugs. Paper said two dead in gang related shooting. So my point is even ex milatary or whom ever think some one is a easy target they could end up the target them selfs . I have made concessions to house a few prisoners in the case of shtf. This is something no one talks about but needs to be considered. Thinking you will kill everyone is quite foolish and wrong. Some might have to be kept to get info out to save you and yours. A quite room can be important to keep the prisoner or prisoners from alerting others and it provides a sense of helplessness in there mind. So the ones who come here looking to steal or loot will be welcomed. We are like motel 6 ( We will leave a light on for you).

Even good people will do evil in defense of others. The man watching his children starving to death before his eyes is going to be inclined to do whatever it takes to keep them alive, to keep them healthy and safe. Once desperation sets in, the straight and narrow becomes a very hard path to walk.

It’s easy to say “They should have prepped.” And I agree all but the most egregious circumstances should see every family with some preparations for disaster.

But what about those of us who do and for one reason or another have it all taken away.

A fire, overwhelming or surprise forces, turn coats, a debilitating illness that leaves us open and unprotected, there are a myriad of reasons that any of us might find themselves in a collapse with nothing.

And watching the ones we’re beholden to protect with the very last breath of life die a slow agonizing death because we have nothing to give them can make anyone lose their sense of right and wrong.

It’s easy to armchair disaster actions, and very hard to do what’s right or even know what’s right when you come under the gun.

I only hope that none of us ever have to be in that position and that if we do, we do not make choices for which we’ll be ashamed and judged by later on.

Do what you can when you can and remember when the shit hits the fan and those around stumble and fall, bereft on all sides by ill luck, there but for the grace of God go us.

This is why I keep old preps in a special cupboard open and in view.
If someone comes and asks nicely, they get a couple cans of outdated veggies and some eggs from the hens.
If they bitch, I will tell them “FEMA camp is that way. We don’t have much left, if its good enough for me, its good enough for thee, now, don’t let me see you in my yard again. Or else”.

If the Shtf, we will have patrols, the roads will be blocked by felled trees at both ends, and OP guards posted w/cb radios.

If the gov comes, Sun Tzu says the battle always won, is the battle not fought… we will fade into the forest. When provoked, or it is certain that battle cannot be avoided, shoot first, aim small, shoot small, 1 man 1 bullet.

THAT is not the topic. We are discussing the warnings to get ready for a collapse.
The situation you give does give us opportunity as a community to help if that situation is now, present, before a collapse–not so much the same thing when it’s world wide, though.

A few of the comments ahead of me already mentioned these guys will “take casualties” and they’re absolutely right. How many doors can you kick in until you take some buckshot to the face? These guys will eventually self-eliminate.
I still figure the most violent time post-SHTF is the first month or so. Your average Joe “Raider” has a gun and a box of shells and he’ll burn through that box of ammo pretty quick. And when the ammo disappears, their gun, whatever is, is no better than a stick. Lie low… disappear if you can. And let Darwin do his work.

MacArthur invaded Inchon. The North Koreans thought it well defended and difficult to approach with strong tides.

In fact, you should be able to channel enemies into prepared traps. Think like an enemy and check all approaches to your home. See it from their side.

Just because some military guys would use there expertise in strategy and tactics to hit preppers and take there stores doesn’t mean that it will work for them. There are tons of ex-military soldiers out here that wouldn’t do that and could help train those that weren’t in the military. Go read Mao Tse Tung or guerrilla warfare books and put them into practice. A real prepper wont just buy beans bullets and bandaids they will also train and take courses to become familiar with tactics and strategy that works for them.

That’s a reason I advocate keeping 2 stashes of preps in you location. You have your primary, long-term stash that is well-hidden and you also have a smaller stash of very basic but ok preps that aren’t hidden too well but not too obvious either. Something you can hand over under duress without compromising your primary stores.

So basically, a throw wallet for your preps.

Just make sure it isn’t a nice convenient number of meals/serving/cans etc in there. Make sure to consume some of it so it does look like your main stash.

Oh, and it goes without saying – if there is an aid station in your neck of the woods, make use of it if it won’t compromise you. Not only could it stretch out your stores it can also help you hide in plain sight. “Me? Being an evil food hoarding prepper? If I were would I stand in line here for barely enough food to keep my family from starving?”

OPSEC is one of the most important things you can do right now. As Selco stated in his post and in his online school (which I ordered and it is very good and will give some insight on how things are really going to go), it will not be like most people think. For everything the show “Jericho” got wrong… one thing they got right is the town of Newburg attacking them for food, the “Blackwood” company preying on towns. If you are not training for this now and building teams it will be a long haul for you. Get to know your neighbors so you know who is good and who to avoid (or later have to “deal with” later). During Katrina, Sandy, Hurricane Elvis (Memphis), Mt. Pinatubo Philippines, and the fires in San Diego: I witnessed people at their best…. And worst. These were events in places where there was food and shelter for all that needed it. When people are pushed out of their norms their stress level goes up. Add to that an injured or deceased loved one and thirst or starvation and you will have Kosovo on your hands. The fact that there are people PLANNING to do harm to stay alive during a meltdown tells us two things. One … trouble is coming and even evil people know it and are planning, preparing, and forming teams. We should be doing the same. Two …. Evil people have one mine set … survive to the next encounter. We need to have a much longer range approach. Most people in America under the age of 40 have NO IDEA what hard times are. Couple that with how weak morally and spiritually this nation has become and you can see just how bad this could get. These evil people will prey upon the unprepared first then they will ATTEMPT to come for us. My team will be looking to were the thugs are and hit them were live and breed. (It is good to have a couple of local LEO’s on your team… its working for us). As I stated in the last post, you may have to turn your back on someone who is now your best friend but may become a burden or an enemy during a collapse. I do not talk about being prepared to ANYONE. I actually make jokes of people who claim to be “Prepers”. Some on my team actually role play with each other in a crowds of friends to this end to deflect any knowledge of how we really are or feel. With what is going on worldwide (wars and rumors of wars, economic woes, political upheaval, moral debasement, Godless societies, Out of control governments, Over policing of citizens, and so on … time is getting short.) Enjoy what you have NOW and hold your loved ones and team members close. PRAY, PREP, PLAN, FORM TEAMS. Stay safe…..

You would be surprised 0311 what we can get….. many on these folks on teams are military and yes they will raid the armory for their team. Good always wins over Evil when God is on their side. I feel sorry for you because if your group will turn on innocent people you will later turn on yourselves. Most of us on the other hand will not…… the afghans’ had no high tech weapons and they made life miserable for the Russians and The U.S. It does not take toys… it takes team work. And you would be amazed on how easy it is to shoot people from a Cessna 172 or 208 with an infrared scope on s FAL308 at night. My “IDOIT LEO” and I have practiced this and at 62KIAS with a 15 MPH head wind we were shocked on how effective this is…. oh ya… we have several pilots on our team including me… You thugs did not see that coming .. did ya…. Nothing like a thermite bomb chucked out the window of the 208 on YOUR home in the middle of a dark night to get YOUR attention… and yes we can turn off those flashy light things…. makes it harder for you to shoot back…. And it would only be fare if ya did… so our ground team can find ya quicker…. Ya did not think of that either….. be careful because if folks are in range so are you. Vasili Zaytsev between October 1942 and January 1943 made an estimated 400 kills, some of which were over 1000 meters using a Mosin–Nagant rifle. The Germans and “better fire power” and training… but Vasili was deffending his team and his country (Home).

The speaker does make some good points as this video is to give you a heads up on what can occur. More than likely when the ball drops, they’ll be some that move out in the country to easy marks and away from urban competition. But the biggest threat you might have to deal with is the nice neighbor right down the road if he gets hungry and desperate. (hell for that matter don’t blink when family shows up.)Even now out in the country where I’m at I pack a gun in one fashion or another while tending the garden or feeding the chickens. I’ve done this for years now. It says in the scripture that, “The devil goes about like a roaring lion seeking whom it may devour”. I ain’t lookin’ to be no snack.

OK, your little band of merry men is going to try and loot some homes. Here, you’re going to have to get around the roadblocks at the terrain bottlenecks 3 or 4 miles from our towns in the valley. That means you’ll be on foot in a guarded and patrolled area. Not a good idea. Take on a few places, you’ll get something, but your game is not going to be worth the candle, just what you can carry while evading the reaction units hunting you down.

We’ll take care of the town as we go along, but you’re not getting in here except to a kill zone. Refugees are one thing, predators are another.

Then from a flank out of a thicket or out building comes the ole John Deer, Case, Bobcat, or Cat that we have welded extra panels on and now they are fighting a pissed off well trained family defending their home and a couple of homemade tanks. One guy in a Midwestern town used an old D8 and terrorized it for hours until the Cat stopped working. It just takes planning, training and imagination. An up armored city bus is a force to be reckoned with. Mad Max was not far off. All a bearcat is …. A f550 with some extra steal. Moscow said all its defense personnel were evacuated from Syria in June. But a foreign ministry spokesman said at the time that about 30,000 other Russians were still living across the country.
