Gun Grabbers Don’t Get It. When The “Economy Falls Apart, Crime Increases.” That’s Why You Need Guns.

    gun-control1

This article was written by Joshua Krause and originally published at The Daily Sheeple.

Editor’s Comment: The fundamentals of gun control are distorted into sideline debates over statistics compared with other European nations. The fact of the matter is that countries facing an influx of rapes and and an unwanted culture of fear wish they still had their rights to keep and bear.

Here in America, it will very likely be the last line of defense as the infrastructure crumbles and the economy bottoms out. People who lose everything lose control; and while they deserve better opportunities, turning to wanton acts of crime and threatening the life of your family is not acceptable. Only an armed populace can defend itself against a society that has abolished dignity and incited waves of crime in government and institutions, and on the streets. If you want to see gun control in action, just go to inner city Chicago and witness the worst scenes of violence in the entire country.

The Gun Grabbers Just Can’t Let Go of This Ridiculous Argument

    by Joshua Krause

You have to give the gun grabbers credit where credit is due. They sure make a pretty compelling argument. Every country in the world that has strict gun ownership laws, also has lower crime rates when compared to countries with loose gun laws. And most importantly, mass killings are just about unheard of and murder rates are far lower in these places.

Oh sorry. I’m afraid I misspoke. These countries rarely have mass shootings and the number of gun crimes is also quite low.

People who support gun control love to make the same lame argument. It’s an argument that defies all logic, and somehow it just won’t die. After every mass shooting, they love to present some statistic that shows mass shootings are rare or nonexistent in countries with strict gun laws, or that gun crimes are also few and far between in those places. These statistics are more often than not, absolutely correct. They’re also completely irrelevant.

Isn’t the overall murder rate far more relevant than the number of murders committed with firearms? Not to the gun grabbers. I can only guess why they won’t let this argument die. Either they have some kind of mental deficiency, or they are willfully ignorant of these statistics, because it would shatter their world view. They simply refuse to see the bigger picture.

The latest iteration of this argument comes from several researchers who sifted through 130 gun control studies from 10 different countries, to see what effect these laws had on the number of gun related crimes. Here’s what they found:

So what do Santaella-Tenorio et al. conclude? First, and most importantly, that gun violence declined after countries pass a raft of gun laws at the same time: “The simultaneous implementation of laws targeting multiple firearms restrictions is associated with reductions in firearm deaths,” the study finds.

This finding doesn’t highlight one specific law, like an assault weapon ban, in isolation. There were “so many different kinds of laws,” Santaella-Tenorio explains, that it was hard to make good international comparisons on every specific kind of gun restriction.

Rather, countries passed big packages of gun laws, which overhauled the nation’s firearm code fairly broadly, which all tended to share similar features. According to Santaella-Tenorio, they generally included:

    • Banning “weapons that are actually very powerful,” like automatic weapons.
    • “They all implemented background checks.”
    • “They all required permits and licenses for purchasing guns.”

South Africa’s comprehensive Firearm Control Act, passed in 2000, contained all these measures. One study found that firearm homicides in five major South African cities decreased by 13.6 percent per year for the next five years. “Reductions in nonfirearm homicides were also observed,” Santaella-Tenorio et al. note, “although not as pronounced as the ones observed for firearm homicides.”

Austria’s 1997 firearm law, similarly, required background checks, limited access to powerful firearms, and imposed rules about how gun owners had to store their guns. Santaella-Tenorio reviewed two studies on Austria’s 1997 law, both of which found evidence that the law had reduced deaths. According to one of them, firearm homicides went down by 4.8 percent, while suicides went down by 9.9 percent.

Australia and South Africa seem to be their best examples. The funny thing about those countries, is that while the research shows that gun deaths did indeed decline, the overall murder rate also declined. This fact comes with a few caveats however.

Take a look at the historical murder rates for both of those countries. In South Africa for instance, the murder rate really did decline after they instituted strict gun control laws. However, the murder rate was already falling for at least 5 years before the year 2000 (that’s as far back as that data goes) and it continues to decline to this very day despite no new legislation.  And in Australia, the overall murder rate has also declined, but not until 8 years had passed since they started rounding up all the guns.

In other words, there is a strong correlation between gun laws and gun deaths, but almost no correlation between gun laws and the overall murder rate. Admittedly, it’s also a fact that many pro-gun advocates would also prefer to ignore.

What nobody wants to admit, is that we don’t really know what drives crime rates.  In the US for instance, the national crime rate has been falling consistently for more than two decades, and nobody can figure out why. I’ve heard all kinds of theories to explain this, including higher incarceration rates, lower lead levels in the water, increased police presence, an aging population, roe vs wade, and even the proliferation of the internet and video games. None of them have been able to hold up to scrutiny, and it seems that the number of guns on our streets isn’t a factor either.

The truth is, the real drivers of crime are incredibly murky. The only thing we know for sure is that when the economy falls apart, crime often increases, but only most of the time. Crime rates continued to decrease in the US even during the Great Recession.

And perhaps that is why this argument that the gun grabbers are always trying to make, is so stupid. Like everyone else, they desperately want to find a single simplistic cause for all the murders that happen; a cause that fits their world view. But in the real world there isn’t just one reason, and if there were, it certainly wouldn’t be guns since there isn’t any convincing data.

Remember that the next time the gun grabbers go on about “decreasing gun murder rates.” What they’re really saying is, “give up your rights, even though it won’t benefit you or your community in any way.”

Since the theme earlier was about Venezuela and their economic collapse; we should consider that just a while back their gov took their guns away.

Now only the gov elite and wealthy have guns on the one side, and the tugs/thieves/cartels/gangs, have them on the other side.

Sometimes the lines are so blurred, the people can’t distinguish between the two sides.

      • Braveheart1776 says:

Passin, I know how to distinguish between them. Both groups have evil intentions toward us. Whoever targets me had better be ready to take the dirt nap.

        • WhoWTFKnows... says:

The difference is the evil people want to disarm the honest people. Maybe we should take away the Military guns away from the Government. Our Government is a Murderous Tribe of evil and thrives on perpetual war on the world. This certainly has been a good indicator of this trend of Genocide over the last 2 decades.

A good point, what with cops blowing away a 12 year-old boy without warning who was playing with an OBVIOUS TOY gun he was twirling around, just sort dancing around at a park, oblivious, as kids that age often are… Or blowing away a deaf carver/artist with a 3 1/2 inch knife in his hand while he was in a crosswalk WALKING AWAY (the cop thought he was being ignored – automatic death sentence apparently) because he never heard the order to stop, or beating a harmless schizophrenic man to death in public (warning the public to keep out of their way or else) over 15 or 20 minutes, apparently just for recreation… It’s pretty obvious that Americans NEED to exercise their right to keep and bear. And then there’s the danger from NON-badge-wearing criminals… Come to think of it, the ones WITH badges are a LOT more dangerous and “Oops!”-prone that regular citizens are…

After two centuries and a bit of American private ownership of arms, you’d think we’d have this all hashed out by now. It seems the same so-called “elites” who’ve been meddling with our law, our rights and the very structure of this country from the beginning are getting anxious – it’s really a lot harder to take over a country of free people if they’re armed. Officialdumb has gone along with the idea of “freedom”, “Liberty” and all that for two centuries, pasted it everywhere, had the whole patriotic bit out there in a BIG way, and unfortunately for them – AND us nowadays – most of us have taken it pretty damned seriously all these years! Now they seem to think that we’ll take to being property ourselves with NO rights just fine. Well, MY family has taken it ALL VERY seriously: my dad was a veteran of Korea and Vietnam, Mom was a WWII vet, my brother and I are vets, and on it goes. If we’re needed we go. Now, however, I guess first of my family, I learn it’s all been lies one after another. America has been and is THE Planetary Pirate, and we’ve ALL been lied to all along!

I can’t speak for any other American, but THIS American is proud at least of our ideals at least, of the sheer poetry of what we’ve been taught from the beginning America is all about! WE feed the hungry, WE defend the weak from the greedy strong, we’re the Good Guys. Unless, God help you, you’re NOT an American and you happen to live in a country that has something the fake “elites” (international thieves, liars, murderers, sadists, pedophiles, Luciferians and general slimeballs) happen to want. Now it’s getting down to the wire, and our cops have been militarized, with too many conditioned to “put down” the public like cops do family pets in front of small children, with routine sadism, while the military has undergone even MORE mind-controlling conditioning. Everything around us has been massively poisoned, from TV content and even flicker-rates to cell towers and cell phones to the foods we eat to the air and water to the toxic, disease-CAUSING “medicines”, we and our country have been robbed BLIND over and over again, and we haven’t seen REAL news for decades now. So where do we go from here, folks?? I don’t see that We the People, armed or not, can take on the brainwashed military, the NSA, CIA, FBI, DEA plus every other Federal agency out there AND the U.N., NATO, and for all I know every other uniformed clandestine and overt agency, ice-cream truck and dog-catcher on the flippin’ PLANET! Not and even HOPE to win, anyway. What we OUGHT to be doing is joining forces with the populaces of every other country on Earth that those demon-infested, stolen gold-plated, tertiary-phase spiritual syphilitics have caused to be harmed, by US far too often, and together proceed to CLEAN HOUSE!! We can’t return the lives we’ve taken in falsified causes, but we CAN do what we’re able to make up for it, as much as mere mortals CAN, at least. As for Obama and the rest of his illegitimate, illegal, unvetted regime all sitting there in the corporate HQ of “Elites, Inc.”, it’s NOT the legal, Constitutional Capital of the U.S. of A., nor was he legally vetted and elected, his E.O.s are unconstitutional – it’s ALL one huge FRAUD! I say that he, his appointees, the Congress and almost all OTHER “high-ranking government employees” there are guilty as charged! Or they would be if they ever WERE to be investigated and charged! Maybe “Guilty as sin” is a better phrase – more accurate. Anyone else? What say you?

Please pardon the long rant here, friends. I didn’t realize I had all that just sitting in there festering like that… Maybe I should take a couple of aspirin and go lie down. * Sigh *

They put me in the low end of 1st grade.
By Christmas, they placed me in the top tier. Been there ever since.

                  • Ian MacLeod says:

                    To swinging Richard –

I’ll wish you good fortune. Humans are still essentially a wild animal; those too strongly conditioned to what we call “civilization” are conditioned for non-survival. And there will ALWAYS be those who prefer to take from those who have – it makes them feel powerful – until they find someone more powerful.

This whole collapse has been and is deliberately contrived. The “elite” NEED all those deaths; otherwise they could NEVER show their faces again after all they evil they’ve done.

                • Ian MacLeod says:

Thanks for the thought, anyhow. Sometimes writing in here is a lot like talking to friends and family. *sigh*

            • Braveheart1776 says:

Eppe, that’s a new one on me. I wouldn’t be surprised if acid failed kindergarten. He seems to fail at everything else. BTW, my trip got set back until next week; family issue at home to get resolved. Hopefully I’ll be back in GA by this time next week.

          • Yes, it is (or was) possible to flunk kindergarten. Unlike when we went to school, learning what is required to pass is a little more than knowing how to color. Now kids need to be able to read, do simple math and be able to write and spell simple words. My granddaughter is 19 and still in HS because she flunked kindergarten due to “not being socially ready”. Whatever that meant. I think the “no child left behind” act put a stop to flunking kids. The answer to a good education for the future is to homeschool if you’re able.

          • islander says:

I was a kindergarten drop out . does that count?

          • SCTV says:

I actually know two people that failed kindergarten. Both of them for essentially the same reason. Late December births. At the early stages of development the children and their physical and emotional statuses change rather quickly,(parents think of how many shoes you bought per year), and their teachers felt that the child in question should be kept back and repeat. Failing kindergarten is not a labeling that the child will always be a paste eater just that they are not ready. Now when you talk about later years then you might want to keep gallon jugs of paste handy in your preps.

            • Warchild Dammit! says:

I was for lack of better word suspended from kindergarten, twice!

            • passinwiththewind says:

We had a kid in class that kept eating his crayons.
Another kid kept pissing his pants all the time.
And yet another, that was always puking in the floor. The other kids finally wised up and gave the puking and pissing kids a wider birth. Nothing spells, “change those school clothes when you get home”, more than the smell of those soaked in piss and puke.

…and yea, I have witnessed the paste eaters too. Something going on very wrong with that phenomenon.

          • Paul
I have never heard of failing kindergarten… any teachers out there?

            • rabbitone says:

Children can be asked to repeat kindergarten and it may happen more often than you’d expect. For better or worse, one of the consequences of a lot of this new standardized testing is that kids are asked to do more at an earlier age. But the defining factor is if the child were very trying on the teacher and causing a lot of interruptions in other students learning

I believe today that most children attend preschool before coming to kindergarten so kindergarten is not thought of as a child’s first exposure to school. What teachers and administrators are acutely aware of is students that have not had that mental maturity switch flipped to positive or the child is thought to be ADHD/ODD. These students can take up an inordinate amount of a 1st grade teacher’s class time thus degrading the entire classroom experience for the other kids.

In other cases parents are opposed to medicating a child that has ADHD and ODD at that early age. Many family physicians believe in not medicating or don’t do it unless absolutely necessary. Thus they choose to place the child back a year in kindergarten to see if they calm down some and progress.

              • Rabbit one
I appreciate your expertise. I haven’t had a kindergartener in eons.
I have been reading about endocrine disrupters in pesticides and one result is ADHD. What goes around comes around and our children are already paying the price. I don’t know if you reduce their exposure whether it helps.

              • KY Mom says:

                rabbitone,

I believe there are many children who are thought to be ADHD and are actually exhibiting reactions to food dyes and chemicals in processed “food” they are consuming.

When I worked as a substitute teacher in special education, I met children who had been removed from regular classrooms due to their unruly behavior. One excellent teacher would request that a doctor test each child for sensitivity to food additives, food allergies, etc. She recommended that the parents remove processed food, food dyes, sometimes certain foods, etc. from the family diet.

You would be AMAZED at the change in the behavior of these children in less than a month.

          • KY Mom says:

            Paul,

As a former kindergarten teacher, it is possible for a child to need to repeat kindergarten.

Most children start kindergarten at age four to age six.

Some children enter kindergarten having attended preschool, already knowing their alphabet and numbers, letter sounds, can count and ready to advance. Other children start kindergarten and have not been exposed to any of this.

The need to repeat kindergarten is often due to readiness and maturity.

            • passinwiththewind says:

I was a hyper child from what my parents/grandparents told me and from what I remember prior to age five.

i do remember the old worn out books that my granny used to read to me as a three and four year old. I cut my teeth on the Dick and Jane, Sally and Spot books of the day, that was left from earlier kids.
By those 1st grade level books, my granny had taught me to read a pretty good while before kindergarten. She was an avid Bible reader and had a job taking care of a Judge’s son that was in an iron lung. I spent many days at the house where he lived and would help granny by sitting with him and turning the pages of the bible or some novel as he lay there and read. he sometimes read out loud to me, and in later years he was moved into our church where he preached a sermon. Granny would read to him as i followed the words in the books and magazines.

I got to where i could read most sentences in the bible because of spending so much time with granny and my other grandparents that could barely read. When they ( the other grandparents) realized i knew more words than they did, i was asked to read the bible to them every night that i was visiting. When I returned to my house next door to the granny that read, she would help me with the difficult words I was trying to learn.

When i started school, already reading beyond 1st and 2nd grade level, they held me back because I was too advanced and they would not allow me to skip kindergarten. I guess it was an embarrassment to the Country Club kids that I read. We moved, and the next year i was admitted to first grade. Remember, this was early sixties in hick city, USA. Teachers were very different than they are today.

Bored with their easy reading books, I acted up and was always getting punished for being hyper, instead of allowing me to read, write, and arithmetic, at a higher level. I never felt as if i “fit in”, at school. later in High school, i worked a full time job, hardly ever studied and still made all As and Bs.

There was one girl in fourth grade that was as smart or actually smarter, than myself. We sat together and always were the first two to finish our tests. She fell hard for me and was still trying to get my attention in eighth grade. She was sweet, wore glasses, skinny as a rail, and her name was Pandora. Sad thing was that she was just plain ugly and shy, but I was always nice to her anyway. In high school she was eat up with acne, and still a bone rack. Lord bless her skinny ass.

Since 75% of crime and gun murder convictions are caused by Black people, we could drastically reduce our crime and murder rates if we could get rid our country of all the blacks in America. This is not a gun problem but a black people aka Animal nuisance problem. Do you want the facts or is your Crime statistics Colorblind? White people are not black people. And just think if Whites did not have guns to protect ourselves, what the increase in crime and murder rate would be blacks on white.

Just the facts from the FBI and DOJ Crime statistics. So lets all ban blacks and not guns. Our Constitution guarantees out right to firearms. Of you don’t like it move to Cuba or South Africa or…..go to hell.

The black homicide rate is 10x the white and 2x the African rate.

Gun violence is not a gun problem. It’s a kaffir problem.

        • Braveheart1776 says:

WWTI, I’ve read those FBI and DOJ studies. Let me add that most of their victims are other blacks. Whites make up only a small percentage of their victims. But I do agree with your points.

          • SCTV says:

Just because this is harsh doesn’t mean that it is not true but many of the death rates are suicide. Suicide is still considered homicide. So when a person blows their own head off that counts too in their statistics. Take the gun away and yes the rate does go down in proportion to what is suicides, but, suicide rates remain the same. The method only changes.

Gun grabbers won’t suddenly realize the threat and change their minds. No amount of factual argument will persuade a gun grabber from wanting to disarm everybody.

That is the scariest part of the gun grabbers philosophy.

        • Braveheart1776 says:

JS, the article is spot on. He was highlighting the gun grabbers’ philosophy. I believe the only way to stop the gun grabbers will be to ‘neutralize’ them.

        • Slingshot says:

          JS
          During the reset.
Ask a gun grabber if he wants to be hacked to death with a sword or be shot as punishment for his crime.

        • Azrael says:

Most of them haven’t been victims, but those who have and suffer from Cognitive Dissonance need someone to blame, just like those in power in Venezuela, will keep the mantra of disarmament. Others will see the light/truth of the matter. You are responsible for You!

I personally know someone who was a Pacifist and anti gun, robbed at gunpoint and he now has a CCW and carries a Glock G23.

          • Slingshot says:

            Azrael.

All this talk about gun grabbing and not a word about sharp edge weapons. Have a few cavalry swords that can take you arm or head off easily. Lots of good fighting knives and if you willing to put down the money the Butcher Type/Saw Back bayonets of WW1 are real nice. A slaughter house clever can do a number on ya.

From the movie Braveheart to The Last Samurai edged weapons are in their element in the melee. The last battle scene in TLS where Algren-san’s minder, Bob, takes one for him, then splits the IJA soldier’s skull with his last dying strength.

Consider the short horror thriller on Youtube, Hammer Girl. Close-up in determined hands
an ordinary claw hammer is a horrendus weapon. In a subway car decimates a dozen male assassins then slaughters their boss.

The best treatment for gun grabbers is to capture them, cut or blow their hands off their arms with a 12g shotgun. Not KILL them. So they can wander aimlessly back to their headquarters and relay the message to the rest of the gun grabbing parasites, that they too will get their hands blown off their arms, if they try to grab our guns. That would put the fear into these aholes. See how long that grabber program lasts.

              -WWTI…

              • Slingshot says:

                Nope.

Put two gun grabbers in an arena. Give one a wooden baseball bat and the other a metal bat. Have them fight to the death.

Having seen a few bar fights with which these types of weapons were used. There is a distinctive sound a metal bat makes as does the wooden one does when it makes contact with a human head. A mellow ping and a flat wrap sound is the best way to describe it. Amazing how many hits a body can take when they are drunk and pissed off.

Two men enter. One man leaves. To tell the story of course.

              • Braveheart1776 says:

I disagree. I belonged to the NRA for years. They are one of the richest organizations in this country. They could have taken these gun laws to the Supreme Court and had them abolished years ago. They never have. The majority in our country believe in the Second Amendment. Until Scalia died they had a majority on the Supreme Court. Why haven’t they been aggressive legally? No more money from members. I dumped them for being just one more bloated theft machine.

Considering that most of these crimes are committed by “African American” males between the ages of 15 and 35, then almost 50% of violent crime in USA is committed by less than 1% of the population.

      • Ian MacLeod says:

A good point, what with cops doing things like blowing away a 12 year-old boy without warning who was playing with an OBVIOUS TOY gun he was twirling around, just sort dancing around at a park, oblivious, as kids that age often are… Or blowing away a deaf carver/artist walking with a 3 1/2 inch knife in hand while he was WALKING AWAY in a crosswalk because he never heard the order to stop, or beating a harmless schizophrenic man to death in public (warning the public to keep out of their way or else) over 15 or 20 minutes, apparently just for recreation… It’s pretty obvious that Americans NEED to exercise their right to keep and bear. And then there’s the danger from NON-badge-wearing criminals… Come to think of it, the ones WITH badges are a LOT more dangerous and “Oops!”-prone that regular citizens are…

After two centuries and a bit of American private ownership of arms, you’d think we’d have had this all hashed out by now. It seems the same so-called “elites” who’ve been meddling with our law, our rights and the very structure of this country from the beginning are getting anxious – it’s really a lot harder to take over a country of free people if they’re armed. Officialdumb has gone along with the idea of “freedom”, “Liberty” and all that for two centuries, and unfortunately for them – AND us – most of us have taken it pretty damned seriously all these years! Now for some reason they seem to think we’ll take to being property with NO rights just fine. Well, MY family has taken all that about Rights, Liberty, Freedom and so on VERY seriously: my dad was a veteran of Korea and Vietnam, Mom was a WWII vet, my brother and I are vets, and on it goes. If we’re needed we go. Now, however, I guess first of my family, I learn it’s all been lies one after another. America has been and is THE Planetary Pirate, and we’ve ALL been lied to all along!

I can’t speak for any other American, but THIS American is proud at least of our ideals, of the sheer poetry of what we’ve been taught from the beginning America is all about! WE feed the hungry, defend the weak from the greedy strong, we’re the Good Guys. Unless, God help you, you’re NOT an American and you happen to live in a country that has something the fake “elites” (international thieves, liars, murderers, sadists, pedophiles, Luciferians and general slimeballs) happen to want. Now it’s getting down to the wire, and our cops have been militarized, with too many conditioned to “put down” the public like they do family pets, while the military has undergone even MORE mind-controlling conditioning. I don’t see that We the People, armed or not, can take on the brainwashed military, the NSA, CIA, FBI, DEA plus every other Federal agency out there AND the U.N., NATO, and for all I know every other uniformed and clandestine and overt agency, ice-cream truck and dog-catcher on the flippin’ PLANET! We can’t return the lives we’ve taken under false causes, but we CAN do what we’re able to make up for it, as much as mere mortals CAN, at least. Anyone else? What say you?

Please pardon the long rant here, friends. I didn’t realize I had all that just sitting in there festering like that… Maybe I should take a couple of aspirin and go lie down. * Sigh *

    2. We have long known that governments are the worst mass murderers.

Why do gun rights advocates let themselves be distracted by the private crime red herring?

      • john stiner says:

I like what Justice Thomas said the other day when the supreme Court was hearing the arguments about gun rights.

A person was convicted of misdemeanor family violence. He slapped his wife. A crime punishable by a max of $500 fine, no jail time.

Because it was domestic violence the person lost the right to own a firearm. He was subsequently convicted of the federal law making it illegal to own a firearm after a family violence conviction.

Thomas said, “What other laws can be violated to make a person loose a civil right?”

The sad fact is that eventually, if you get a speeding ticket, you will loose the right to own a firearm.

If civil rights can be legislated away, then you have no civil rights.

        • Philosopher says:

JS: exactly. Justice Thomas spoke after not saying anything for ten fricken years. My understanding is he expects the arguments to be laid out in documents.

Anyhow, he made an excellent point. There is plenty of extrajudicial action being taken by the USSA these days. Was reading early today about how Muslims have been wiped from the HS terrorist list because that isn’t PC. Hilliary can mishandle intelligence documents and information and subvert the law and nothing happens. Same goes for HSBC. You are better off stealing $1 billion dollars from a bank, you will get a little tickle. Steal $5 grand and you can plan on spending 10 to 20 years in prison.

There is a two-tiered justice system. Not only that but there is plenty of extrajudicial actions being made by executive orders.

What is their difference between the USSA and a kangaroo court in a banana republic? None.

I witnessed a NJ State Senator say, “Don’t confuse me with facts” when the Semi Auto Ban S-166 was being debated in 1990.

The general public does not know that:

      1. Rifles of all types account for approximately 400 murders a year in a nation of 321 million and semi auto rifles are a fraction of that figure or roughly comparable with those killed by lightening.

      2. The murder rate regardless of weapon and including firearm has decreased by roughly 50% since 1990 while gun ownership has dramatically risen.

      3. Florida the poster boy of concealed carry having started the “Shall Issue” trend in 1987 has issued over 2 million permits and revoked 168 for a crime committed with a firearm after licensing in the 23 years since 1987. They gave up keeping that data because it was statistically irrelevant as the permit holders have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt their law abiding nature.

The reality is there are relatively small percentage of people that care about banning guns. Conversely the number of legal gun owners is thought to be, by the available evidence, to be approximately 100 million. Considering about 30% are ineligible to own a firearm because of age or record that implies that there is roughly as many homes with firearms than without and those with guns generally have more than one as 300 million firearms are believed to be in the US.

I was heavily involved in the 2nd Amendment cause. You play the hand you have as best as you can. The NRA did put an addition into the Clinton 1994 Assault Gun ban. It put in a 10 year experation and then politically galvanized forces over the next decade. The ban needed to be re-approved and the votes weren’t there so it expired.

I was involved with what I can only call, “The NRA CIA”, in NJ. Richard Feldman had a falling out with the NRA but I’ll tell you, back then; he was good, very very good.

Former Governor Jim Florio as being groomed having been invited into the globalist network. He was defeated along with the worst of his party and a turncoat Republican and Jim left politics forever as, “His name became Mudd”.

    23. Plan twice, prep once says:

There’s a time to fight in the courts, as long as the law is on our side, it is our best weapon.

During hurricane Katrina some local police tried to confiscate guns, some even went house to house. No one resisted, and many criticized these people’s lack of resistance in the midst of a disaster.

Now years later, because of police overreach during Katrina, we find not only were these officers sued and prosecuted, many states have enacted laws to specifically to protect citizen gun rights during disasters, even if a state of emergency exists, and even from the federal government.

George Bush signed the “Disaster Recovery Personal Protection Act” that became Public Law 109-295 sec 706 and 42 USC 5207. These are laws prohibiting the seizure of firearms during an/or after a natural disaster.

This federal law bites seriously into any plan or attempts by FED’s to use a “state of emergency” as a basis to confiscate citizen firearms.

In retrospect, I count this as huge progress. I wonder if people had gotten into shootouts with police over their guns, if these new laws that protect everyone would exist now?

      • john stiner says:

The courts are nothing more than a 2nd legislature, voting along party lines on “constitutional” issues.

      • jolly rancher says:

    24. The gun grabbers do, in fact get it.

They want us helpless in the aftermath of the economic collapse they are pulling down around us. Then, in the confusion, they will send their pet criminals out to murder their political enemies, using the disorder as camouflage for the assassinations – exactly as happened in Venezuela.

Our job is to ruin their plan. Any way possible.

      • Kevin2 says:

I break them down into two groups. First the strategists that know full well and desire the implications that are inherent in state monopoly of coercive force and second, the idealists that are utterly naive completely discounting the danger and used by the former to achieve their goals. Lenin referred to them as, “Useful Idiots”. A third sub group exists that doesn’t care about the desires of the former nor do they possess the idealistic expectations of the latter, but are only anti gun for their own benefit. This group is highly clustered in the political class.

      • Tucker says:

Leftism is what spawned Communism, and as we all should know – Communism has been responsible for the mass murder of well over 100 million people during the last century alone.

Oh, and regarding those 100 plus million who were killed? Who were they? What did every one of them have in common? Well, for starters – they were dissidents. They opposed the agenda that the leftist Communists were obsessed with imposing upon the populations of these Communist controlled countries. Ponder that for a second, and remember how intolerant the left is here in the USA for anyone who dares to disagree with and speak out against ANY facet of the left’s agenda.

Do we all remember the Duck Dynasty flap, where the patriarch of the Robertson family had the temerity to suggest that a man’s anus was not intended to be used as a parking garage for another guy’s John Henry? The liberals started screaming hysterically, spewing their hate and venom at Robertson, literally frothing at the mouth with what can only be accurately described as an unhinged, psychopathic maniacal rage – stomping their feet and demanding that the Duck Dynasty TV show kick the elder Robertson off of the show. Well, that was a battle that the good guys wound up winning – but, it was a rare victory for the good guys. And, it taught these leftists exactly zero lessons about respecting the rights of other people to have their own opinions and positions on issues. They reacted the same way every leftist prefers to react – by trying to silence and censor their opposition. If they could, these leftists would love to do to American dissidents the exact same thing the Bolshevik Communists did to dissidents in the former USSR. Slaughter them. Exterminate them.

This the real reason why liberals are so consumed with taking our firearms away from us. They want to be able to send goon squads out to kill anyone who opposes their diabolically evil and destructive agendas – but, as long as Americans still own firearms that can be used to defend themselves against those goons, they really can’t live out their fantasies.

        • Antonio Gonzales says:

When a declaration of emergency is declared it basically turns into a free for all free pass for them to do whatever they want to you and your family, just like they did during hurricane katrina and the Boston marathon bombing and just like they do everytime something happens … these UnConstitutional illegal usurpation organizations should be just as big of a concern or bigger if there is a societal breakdown. They are not there to be friendly and help, they are there to harrass, molest, steal, control, dominate, imprison, and even murder in the guise of national security.

THAT’S what the FEMA coffins are all sitting around waiting for. The so-called “elites” (and so the U.N. in Agenda 21) have placed their target at 90% to 98% die-off in America when they’re done. With the mind control techniques, substances, devices etc., some of which most people haven’t even heard of yet, they just may get near their target. I’d say they have a strong chance of hitting their target stats, too. For those in the FEMA camps it’ll be even easier – just keep them locked outside during daylight hours. There’s less and less of the ozone layer, and more and more UVB; that’s what’s been cooking the bark off of the trees in the forests around here (Central Oregon). Not to mention killing my Niobe willow. It’s NOT going to be pretty.

        • Ian
say more about your trees. I am from central Oregon and would return to the PNW if I could. You don’t think it is Fukushima radiation?

          • Ian MacLeod says:

No, I don’t think it’s from Fukushima. Seriously, the ozone layer has been dropped (or so I’ve read) to a very small fraction of what it was, apparently being the reason for as much of the nano-AL as they’ve been using. Seems it was getting in the way of some electronic mind-control and other things, so the Shadow Government got rid of as much of it as they were able. That means our UV protection is mostly shot now. I’ve also read that while the beach nearest the water is getting uncomfortably radioactive, it’s not as bad as I would have expected. I’ve not checked on it in over a year though. Anyway, apparently a LOT of the damage to our forests is due to the damaged ozone layer, and the bark is literally being cooked off the trees! My poor willow has the bark just peeling off in strips. It’s dead now. It was my wedding present to my late wife. I brought it home in the back of my Jeep Cherokee (now gone). The tree was about 35 feet or so tall. Damn them anyway!

Sorry – I’m VERY tired, and also I’m a Texan, not a native Oregonian. PNW?

Interesting – I’m from Flour Bluff (Corpus Christi), Texas! There were radioactive bits and pieces, furniture and so on up on the beaches, I understand. I don’t know the air currents, but if I remember right any airborne particles would have hit the jet stream at a 90 degree angle, assuming the cold air in Alaska didn’t pull it all down there. Lessee – that would put ’em either in Putin’s front yard or in Michigan… I think. *S* I WISH I had a Geiger counter! Couldn’t put a down-payment on a free meal most of the time, though.

IF the government wanted to take away that right, they would have to put an amendment in the constitution through a constitutional convention with ratification from the states…And that will never happen, so they nit-pick a little at a time to erode those rights, and we have to stand up for those rights.

“…taking away our rights given us in the constitution!”

I’d like to point out that the Constitution does NOT “give us” ANY Rights! We’re BORN with those Rights, and they come from our Creator! The Constitution NAMES them – call it a reminder – but we come into this world with those and other Rights not named, but ours nonetheless just as surely. Those who try to take any of our Rights away are breaking both the laws of God AND of man, and another Right we have the Right to defend ourselves, our loved ones and our property against ANYONE who tries to take them away from us without our consent. If they alter the Constitution it makes NO DIFFERENCE in our Rights. The Constitution reminds US of what some of our more important Rights are, but they can’t change that document and thereby change what Rights are mine any more than they can change my birth certificate and change the color of my eyes with that change. Hazel they were, hazel they remain no matter what any document may state to the contrary.

Remember that: if someone wants to change what our rights under God are, they’ll have to apply to the Author of those rights Who gave them to us!

Chris Christie endorsing Trump raises a big red flag for me. I can’t believe anybody supports that obnoxious gasbag, the people of New Jersey don’t. How in hell did the people of Minnesota support Rubio, the biggest, most obvious flake running. Cruz looks like a vampire that just crawled out of his coffin, just crawl back in it. Sanders looks like a mad scientist, the young people are so aloof and those older who support him need to cut back on their meds. Hitlery, what a devious criminal, Braveheart I wish she would show up at your door so you could administer the dirt nap.

I don’t think the author of this article gets it. The libs and TPTB want you to believe gun control is about crime. Sure, they use the argument of crime but in reality it is about disarmament of the American people so there remains absolutely no challenges to their goal of total control. There is no doubt if the 2nd amendment did not exist that by now we would be a fascist nation with almost no rights for the people. TPTB depise the middle class and hate that citizens have guns. Sooner or later their patience will run out trying to disarm us, and will create a great false flag to finally empower them to accomplish it.
In high school I studied civics, POD, Amer. gov’t, etc. What is taught of how things works is not at all how things works. They forgot to mention things like politicians insatiable hunger for power, hideous corruption, secrecy, cronyism, and access and influence only money can buy. In reality, those in “public service” are not the noble, or honorable, or selfless individuals that students are taught. Public good is a lie. Justice is for those who do not have a million dollars. Voting is almost of no consequence. Officials who retire incredibly wealthy on a government salary. “Legal” transfer of wealth and property from the middle classes. More and more and more jails. Horrible quality of public school education. Endless military intrusion in foriegn countries. Violation of privacy and unconstitutional spying on citizens. This is what government today.
