A doctor who arrived in New York City from the Ebola stricken country of Guinea has tested positive for the Ebola virus, making him the fourth confirmed case in the United States.
The doctor had a 103 degree fever when he checked into a hospital.
New York officials are scrambling to identify potentially hundreds of individuals he may have come into contact with. According to The New York Times, the doctor took a subway train from New York to Brooklyn, where he joined others at a bowling alley for the evening. He then took a taxi back to his home in New York.
The doctor, Craig Spencer, was rushed to Bellevue Hospital Center on Thursday and placed in isolation while health care workers spread out across the city to trace anyone he might have come into contact with in recent days. A further test will be conducted by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to confirm the initial test.

Even as the authorities worked to confirm that Mr. Spencer was infected with Ebola, it emerged that he traveled from Manhattan to Brooklyn on the subway on Wednesday night, when he went to a bowling alley, and then took a taxi home.

The next morning, he reported having a temperature of 103 degrees, raising questions about his health while he was out in public.
For weeks the Obama administration has been under pressure to restrict flights to the United States if they or their passengers originate in Ebola-stricken countries. The Centers for Disease control has said that such a ban would actually increase the chances that Ebola would make its way into the country.
While they think a travel ban would secure the U.S. border from Ebola and shrink the potential spheres of contact, CDC director Tom Frieden says instituting a flight ban would forfeit what little control we currently have over the virus.
“Right now we know who’s coming in,” Frieden said at the hearing. “If we try to eliminate travel… we won’t be able to check them for fever when they leave, we won’t be able to check them for fever when they arrive, we won’t be able—as we do currently—to see a detailed history to see if they’ve been exposed.” The White House has sided with Frieden. White House press secretary Josh Earnest said Thursday that a travel ban is “not something we’re considering.”
We now have a confirmed case of exactly the scenario that a travel ban would have prevented.
Though the CDC said yesterday that they would begin quarnatining travelers from West Africa for 21 days once they entered the U.S., they are once again a day late.
But this time it may be much worse than anyone at the CDC would care to admit. Unlike Dallas the city of New York has a massive public transportation system and the Ebola-stricken doctor just happened to travel on it from his home in Harlem all the way to Brooklyn. Next he arrived at a bowling alley where, as most Americans know, there would likely have been some sharing of bowling balls, food, and high fives.
Less than 24 hours later the doctor was showing a fever of 103 degrees consistent with Ebola symptoms.
This means that for a full day before he checked into the hospital there were hundreds of other people that could have been exposed.
Last week President Obama issued a video message in which he said that you cannot catch Ebola just by riding on a bus:
“Ebola is actually a difficult disease to catch. It’s not transmitted through the air like the flu.”
“You cannot get it from just riding on a plane or a bus.”
How about a subway train, Mr. President?
The CDC recently confirmed that, while the Ebola virus may not be transmitted as easily through the air as a common flu, infectious Ebola material can move through the air in the form of droplets.
According to MIT research the contagion blast radius of Ebola droplets in the air resulting from something like a sneeze is several meters. In environments with ventilation systems like those found in most U.S. venues and transit systems, it could be as high as 100 meters of travel distance. Thus, even though Ebola is not as contagious as the flu or a cold, it’s respiratory cloud may still spread in a similar fashion.
The Obama administration told the American people that a travel ban would do more harm than good. Ebola is now in New York City as a direct result of a passenger arriving from a West African nation that would have been on the ban list.
They also told us that CDC protocols and medical infrastructure were eons ahead of West African nations, yet nurses in Dallas have said that absolutely no preventative protocols were in place while Patient Zero Thomas Duncan was being treated. A couple of weeks later two health care workers who were in direct contact with Duncan fell ill with the virus.
Is it time that Americans, especially those living in major metropolitan areas, start wearing respirator masks, protective body suit, splash goggles and heavy-duty gloves on public transit systems?
The CDC, of course, will say that such a drastic move is unnecessary and may cause panic.
Right now, however, there are hundreds of random people in a metro area of over 20 million people wondering if they may have somehow come into contact with a doorknob, bowling ball, or taxi seat that may have been contaminated with Ebola.
Will America’s new Ebola Czar, who happens to be an advocate for population control initiatives, take action and finally issue guidelines to the American public about protective gear, social distancing protocols and preparing essential emergency supplies in case of a nationally declared emergency?
Will he explain to the American people what the government will do in a worst case scenario and how they may end up locked in their homes for weeks without the ability to go to a grocery store? Will he tell people that should that happen, they need to have at least a 30 day food supply because Uncle Sam won’t be making deliveries?
Probably not, because according to New York Mayor Bill De Blasio, there is nothing to worry about:
“We want to state at the outset there is no reason for New Yorkers to be alarmed.”
In a guide outlining some warning signs for when to start considering self-quarantine and lockdown procedures, Prepper’s Blueprint author Tess Pennington says that a key indicator to watch for is officials who claim they have the situation under control even though more cases are being identified.
Patient #4 is now confirmed. Within about three weeks (perhaps even as many as 6 weeks according to new research) we’ll know if anyone else has been exposed.
This virus is real. It has a 70% mortality rate. And it just made it’s way to America’s largest and most densely populated metropolitan area.

For a concrete example I’ll refer you to the story of the Sierra Leonean nurse who saved all but one of her own family and saved her own life by wearing 4 trash bags and surgical gloves layered and removing them ALL carefully herself at the end of each shift. Four layers of trash bag make a more effective apron barrier than one western style suit – especially where the wrists are left fully exposed.

I thought it was only me, and I’ve been sorta worried I’m going crazy. I’ve definitely lost interest in normal everyday things like going to work (although I still do), certain hobbies, etc. In the meantime, I’ve gotten very interested in topping off my preps. Just bought 5 buckets of beans, rice etc yesterday. Made me feel a little better.
On a very serious note if you are worried observe your pets and any wildlife in your vicinity carefully. I do mean shut up, watch and absorb. Time spent in contemplative silence is a forgotten art. If you are quiet, calm and observant while tuning into the environment & atmosphere around you it will give you a better alarm signal if something in your area is wrong than any man made warning ever will by enabling you to tune into your own gut instinct.
Twas this practice that made me go on a camping holiday with my child just two days before the riots in the UK kicked off a few years back. SHTF is rolling out globally neighbourhood by neighbourhood – the exact timing for your locale will vary.

Do you have a local church you attend? If so, see if they can get you some help. Many churches have programs to help those in desperate need.
I know how it feels to be alone. I deal with it every day and the only people I see outside of my job are my parents so believe me I understand. However, I find a way to go on by setting goals and accomplishing them, no matter how long it takes. This lets me concentrate on something positive instead of always thinking about my loneliness.
My suggestion to you is that you set about finding a place to stay as your first goal and some sort of work as the second. Off the top of my head, I can think of two possibilities for work. One would be to try to go to where there is a lot of activity in the shale oil industry and see if you can get work. The other is to try and see if you can sign on to a truck driving company that will provide training in exchange for a commitment to work for them for a period of time. Usually this requires over the road driving, but that would also give you a place to stay. While doing that, just save your money so that when the contract is up you can find a driving job that has more normal hours and then you can buy a home. Hang in there. Don’t end your life. It’s not worth it.

If I recall from an earlier post that you made about 2 or so weeks ago Iowa, you mentioned your kids, as in more than one. What about them? I have no idea how old they are or what your situation is, but I do know that kids who have been separated from a parent, have a way of finding that parent when they grow up. Work on making your life better for that day. Not only that but the stats show that when a parent takes their own life, their children are 3 times more likely than the average person. to do the same. Is that what you want for your kids?

I, for one, do not believe that it was a “transcription error.” And furthermore, I, for two, do NOT believe they will find nearly everyone “… who might have come into contact with him.”
What I begin to believe, more and more strongly based on the behavior of those who should know better and take appropriate actions (but clearly aren’t), is that this is being allowed to spread on purpose.
Not only that, I begin to strongly suspect “they” are very careful about the pace at which they are letting it spread: Not too fast so as to cause widespread panic and dissention, not too slow such that it’s not taken seriously or fizzles; but at JUST THE RIGHT PACE so that before most know it, OOOPS, obola quarantine and all that goes with that.
But, that’s just my current opinion.

I tend to post in very understanded terms…
We agree that it seems to be spread purposfully and by the very healthcare workers who should know better. Besides the fact that they are returning from the African “hot zone,” and then go out and mingle about in public. Quite frankly put it’s INSANE to allow this.
Now, I’m not medically trained, but I’m a reasonably smart guy who knows that if this thing really was wanted to be ended, there would be no flights from the hot zones into any other country. IF there were to be the exceptional flight allowed to land outsinde hot zones, then nobody, except nobody should gain entry into public areas without being quarantined at the airport for the FULL 90 days if male, (since apparently it might be contagious that long through sperm) or 42 days if female.
But, that’s just my opinion about how to make sure this obola virus is stopped and burns itself out. However, that is obviously not what western “leadership” wants if one analyzes their actions instead of their words.
And, yes, I believe that persons can be carriers for this, just like typhoid and other diseases – but that is not a confirmed fact yet as far as I know.

The voice recognition (VR) software that doctors use for transcribing their voiced reports actually pretty much still sucks, so it is VERY possible that 103 was written by the computer.
If anybody cares, for the last 20 years, the dictation/transcription of medical records process has gone something like this:
Doctors/hospitals decided they hated having to pay American wages to process the dictated reports, so their big idea was to outsource to low-paying foreign countries (think a-dollar-a-day low-paying foreign countries). So they sent our medical records to be transcribed in countries where English was the second language…not somebody born here of dual-nationality parents who ends up fluent in both languages, but somebody who studied English in their local village.
How well can you understand those people when they come over here? Well, they have pretty much the same problem over there understanding American doctors, adding to the mix that doctors speak like maniacs when in a rush and you need some sort of medical terminology background.
So the mistakes were HUGE, and they found out they still had to pay an American to fix the overseas stuff, and after a lawsuit or two, outsourcing transcription of your medical records to another country is now not high on the list of what the American people actually approve of, although it still happens….quite a lot.
SO THEN they come up with voice recognition software, where the doctor speaks into the computer and the computer “types” what “it” thinks the doctor says, again remembering that doctors tend to speak like maniacs on speed when they are in a hurry.
So doctor dictates into a speech engine and ends up with a sentence looking something like this, as an example (and this is no lie):
had a fever dog runs high whose of patient and is vomiting. Patient is in his wife.
WOW, you say.
So then you STILL have to hire an American to fix it…but you now make all the Americans independent contractors so you don’t have to pay their taxes or their insurance and pay them a rate that basically ends up as $5, 6, 7 dollars an hour to fix medical records.
Now what level of medical “professional” do you think you get at $5, 6, 7 dollars an hour? And if you think it should be easy, it is not as the brain uses a different path to “read” the VR reports rather than when actually do the transcribing. You ever drive and not remember how you got to your destination? That’s what the brain does when “reading” the VR-generated reports…goes on automatic pilot.
Hence, 103 degrees.
So now you know the rest of the story.
The story was that he was so sick he could not get out of bed and they called for assistance. I doubt if you feel that bad with only a 100.3 fever. 103 sounds more accurate. New York is mostly Africans and Haitians so this will be like old home week.

We have three in Bucks county Pa. now who have just come from the infected countries. They are being allowed to self-monitor. The health guy on the radio said they have a hotline for these three to call if they start to feel poorly. Yikes! Little close to home.

We do have doctors who donate their time to those who need it. I recently had surgery on my eye that I couldn’t afford. The eye center gave me everything free, the surgery, the eye drops, and all the follow-up visits. I didn’t have to spend a dime except for gas to get there. They do this for a bunch of people every year.
I can now see 20/20 in both eyes without corrective lenses. Everyone needs to get their eyes taken care of ASAP if possible, either surgery or multiple pairs of glasses and readers.

Because of the extreme amount of spam this web site gets from automated bots we had to implement an automatic spam moderation system utilizing the AKISMET anti-spam plugin.
To ‘get around this’ the system needs to recognize you. The best way to make this happen is to post with the same Name and Email address every time. We understand your privacy is important, so feel free to use a fake email address if you prefer. After the moderators have manually approved your comments a few times they should start showing up automatically.
The only reason they wouldn’t once you are a ‘trusted’ user is if you include a hyperlink in the comment. Those automatically drop into the moderation queue.
We try to check the moderation queues every hour during the day, but sometimes life gets in the way, so it may take us a bit to get things approved.

I keep posting on with the same name and email number. But one time I got a bunch of red thumbs for a comment about FDIC insurance. Ever since then I get moderated EVERY time. I never used to be moderated. So did the red thumbs on that one post cause me to be on the “needs to be moderated” list?
It has been way more than an hour, but I see I am still being “moderated.”
Meantime, lots of posts have gotten through: hammerhead, WARFACE, YH, Winston Smith, Calgagus, fester, Upstate New Yorker, even Anonymous.
Some are from posters I don’t even recognize. Some often get lots of red thumbs. How do they get through, when my posts usually have to wait until a few more articles are posted. By then, most people probably are reading the newer articles
8 hours and still in moderation. I hadn’t been checking to see. I wonder if it always takes 8 hours. Definitely takes more than one hour. And lots of people who posted after I did got through!

Hi Daisy, I checked out blacklist/moderation logs and did not see your IP address or email in there. You *should* be getting through the comment posting filters automatically now — no idea why that is not happening. I will mention this: the AKISMET system we use is tied together with millions of other sites that us it — it is possible that if you got flagged by some random site somewhere else that it flagged you for moderation on a general-scale as well.
Not sure, will see if we can figure it out… Hopefully at some point it will just start auto-approving your comments.

Well, the thing is.. even if they do come with a vaccine that supposedly works, they only have planned a few thousands vials… not only will there be insufficient amounts (supposing it works!) but the virus is exploding at a exponential rate… I think the CDC said around the beginning of December, there will be 30,000 new cases per week? Surface and aerosol infection risks will most certainly go up and, who knows, but it might just be the right environment then for limited airborne transmission, too. Was listening to an interview with a dr from somewhere on the east coast (sorry can’t remember). He was calling in to tell about the crazy things that were happening in his and surrounding hospitals re: ebola patients.
During the interview, (unsolicited) he mentioned that he and his family uses colloidal silver and have their own generator. He said that it has been proven to kill ebola (among other things) and that he got his information from the research study done by the army years ago, confirming it’s efficacy.

Here is the problem, though: How much research will actually go into this? You think Abbot, Eli Lilly or SmithGlaxoKline is going to fund this? And put themselves out of business? Can we trust the CDC to give us a true report on the efficacy? (Gee, maybe they can hire Lois Lerner to run the place.) I have used colloidal silver myself (NOT nitrates!) and I am not blue.
In sum, you are correct in looking for verification and source material. I think you will find a lot of sturm und drang, however, with no final answer. So, for me, I have a colloidal generator, and if Ebola comes knocking on my door, thanks to Bungling Obama, I will try it, as it is NOT going to hurt anything worst case. The other thing is that the cost for colloidal silver (or your own generator) is negligible. If it cost $500 bucks, yeah, I would think twice. But entry level cost is virtually nil, and short term use is NOT going to hurt anything, so – lacking the hundreds of hours available to properly research it, yeah, I will have some on hand and try it if needed, along with things like Elderberry extract (Sambucol) and similar.

New York and Jersey are doing preparedness drills coincidentally. The Holland Tunnel will be closed Saturday from what I understand. This case is 45 minutes away from me. I was at the ER with my daughter who has a stomach virus. I noticed they were very short staffed and all the nurses were talking about the triage nurse who up and left. Why did she leave? I have no clue. Maybe she’s scared. This news came out while we were there. If just a few staff members up and leave for a few months, we have a major problem: Medical Martial Law. Another poster on another site said they have really good friends that work in that hospital and the staff is beginning to freak out. They are afraid and should be. The director of the National Institutes for Health claims a vaccine for Ebola ‘probably’ would have been developed by now if not for the stagnant funding for the agency, which has a $30 billion annual budget. Yet NIH did come up with the money to pay to give Swedish massages for rabbits.
Huffington Post notes that Obama also pushed for CDC cuts. And McClatchy points out that both parties cut budgets for health. Obama also largely ignored CDC’s recommendations for setting up Ebola centers around the world. In addition, the health agencies have squandered money. For example, the Federalist notes:

Most Christians only lightly read their Bibles. It’s a difficult collection of books, linked together by the action of prophesy granted to prophets of the Most High. As such, you need mentors, commentaries, dictionaries, and intense study. That’s off putting to most.
Note that what it says versus what we assume. Most people think of The Antichrist, but then ignore the actions of Lucifer the Accuser throughout time. Seriously if you think Ebola was that bad don’t you think there would be hundreds if not thousands of cases in the US by now? Get a grip people. We have bigger fish to fry. Get out from under your rocks and vote, be happy, live life to the fullest and HOPE the shit doesn’t hit the fan.
